For me it was intuitive. After i moved the blocks a few times, i subconsciously understood the puzzle. I did not really know how to do it, but i still somehow moved the pieces and finished the puzzle. It was weird.

lol this one seems to give alot of people trouble.. I remember they used the same puzzle in kotor (one of the tombs)
So all you do is move lowest block (bigger/lower block need to be under any that go on top)
You move the Left column over to the far Right side starting with the bottom first.
1------->1-------->1
2------------------->2
3-------->3
4------------------------------>4
then it should be easy to figure out the rest

I think I understood this puzzle because I beat it once before in another game (KOTOR maybe, but I forget which)

My first play through ever, I did it by trial and error, eventually figuring out the logic.
Every play through since, I make sure I have enough omni-gel.
Not a problem now, since I've found that I like saving Noveria for last. My usual play through is Feros -> Therum -> Virmire -> Noveria.

It's a hanoi puzzle, which means the rule is you cannot place a piece on a section that already has a smaller piece on it. If you still can't figure it out, there are plenty of Youtube videos.

Yeah it was part of the final tomb on Korriban. (Which is where I remember it from as well.)
