Here.

Dubbed "one of modern cinema's most expressive and inventive soundtrack
composers," Clint Mansell should be -- and sound -- familiar to fans of
Darren Aronofsky films, including The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream, The
Wrestler and, most recently, Black Swan. In a thoughtful interview with
music publication The Quietus, Mansell revealed that he's working on the musical component of BioWare's Mass Effect 3.

Mansell, who got a more interesting video game than Hans Zimmer
did, describes his role as "more like a DJ," with the aural
accompaniment being almost modular and reactive to the player. "You've
got the holding pattern, then the big explosion where you need the score
to kick in," he says. "Then you need to take it off on a tangent.
You've got all these different elements that change depending on what
the player does. You have to figure out an overall symphony, but be able
to break it down into component parts. You can bring the pain when
required."

Not sure how I feel about his to be honest. I really loved the first and second game's soundtrack, but on the other hand, Mansell's music IS epic. Anyway, sorry if this has been posted before, if not - discuss!

I know what you mean. I hope Jack Wall and Sam Hulick still have a major part in it as well, and that Mansell keeps the classic Mass Effect sounds like Shepard's theme or Vigil's.

Yeah, i hope he knows what he's been doing. If it doesn't bring that well known Mass Effect Atmosphere, then it will leave me, aswell as many others dissapointed.

I also hope this game will be more "blue" than "red" again, and have Bioware mixing the best things about the current two games up a bit.

I can't really see Mansell doing any space themes well, he's better off in the creepy music department. Hopefully it brings the same flavor as Mass Effect 2, I loved that CD even better then the first one. The Suicide Run remains my favorite song of all time.

I think he will do an excellent job, but I agree that the 'Vigil' theme must return where appropriate. Mass Effect has gone from strength to strength in the soundtrack department. ME2's was superior to ME1's and the soundtrack to the Overlord and Shadowbroker DLC's were superior to anything outside the suicide mission in ME2.

This is surprising. Why? Jack Wall and Sam Hulick did a great job delivering the most epic game soundtrack of all time!

I hope he wont screw this up. I trust Bioware and i hope it will turn out to be really good.

I like Jack Wall but this is not the end of the world.

Clint Mansell is a very good composer, and it's doubtful the style of the soundtrack in ME3 will be a radical departure from the first two games. Some of Clint Mansell's work for those unfamiliar with him:

The way you just described the ambience just made my day. Seriously. That's exactly how I think of it. ^_^

I rather have Chris Lennertz then Jack Wall, from what I've heard in Overlord and Shadow Broker  (who's soundtrack he was actually responsible for, not Jack Wall).

The soundtracks for both were epic, particularly for LotSB.

Best track in the series so far, IMO:

I have honestly, on my third play through now, ever noted ME2s soundtrack as being at all remarkable. I never even thought to check who did it. Clint Mansell will change that.

Agreed. Love the inspiration (well, seems likely) from Inception soundtrack.
