Why are we here? What is your personal "meaning of life"? Maybe it sounds silly to ask, but what gets you up in the morning besides an alarm clock?

My personal meaning? Make it what you want it to be and make it good. IMO, it's better to be than to be in a coffin. :D

There is no meaning of life.  We are here because of complex biological, chemical, and physical processes that allowed us to evolve into the species we are and to overcome the odds of survival by competeing for resources, adapting to our environment, learning, and procreating. Simplified somewhat but you get my drift.<_<

As an atheist, I never really saw an innate meaning of life. If you don't happen to be religious, my question would be is there one you personally created, and if so, what is it?

It's a Monty Python movie.

Who's monty python?

.....

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

Life is Defined as follows: "the state or quality that distinguishes living beings or organisms from dead ones and from inorganic matter, characterized chiefly by metabolism, growth, and the ability to reproduce and respond to stimuli"

This is literally the meaning of life

No.  This is not a meaning of life.  It is a definition of life or rather a description of what it is to be alive as opposed to dead.

Imo, each individual has his own reason, or meaning to live. Nothing should dictate your beliefs. Mine would be achieving my goals and such. Just an example.

My personal belief is that life is what you make of it within the constraints of your genetics and environment.

Virumor, so in other words, hedonism? ;p

From wikipedia:

"Democritus seems to be the earliest philosopher on record to have categorically embraced a hedonistic philosophy; he called the supreme goal of life "contentment" or "cheerfulness", claiming that "joy and sorrow are the distinguishing mark of things beneficial and harmful" (DK 68 B 188)"

There is no meaning of life. It is coincidence. Life and consciousness are a natural occurence in the Universe. The very question, 'Why/What does it mean?' led the first humans to create the first religions. They didn't have the technology or understanding of the universe, so many cultures around the world invented their own religions to answer that very question. But the truth is that there is no meaning at all. I think of sapient life as being an opportunity to experience and witness the universe, to feel and sense. But It is only by coincidence that we are all here today.

So, your question has no answer, for the question itself assumes otherwise from what I have mentioned.
