It would be a nice quote if he quoted Erich Hartmann who said it on the first page.

I did not read the whole first page nor did I expect anybody to use said quote. In fact, the moment I saw the topic I decided I would use said quote. We shall settle this with pistols at dawn good sir.

I think life is mostly emotion and instinct driven.

We work hard to succeed because we *like* success (emotion)

We make a family because we *like* living with others (-//-)

We have kids to preserve our lifeline

etc etc

There is none - it's just another abstract attempt (like time for instance) for man to try and place meaning on a state that is meaningless and a chaotic and uncaring universe. Everything just is - deal with it ;)

Ironically, death is the true meaning of life. Be ready to die without regrets at any given time in your life, and you will have led a life to be proud of. :)

There is no absolute meaning of life, the only meaning of life is the meaning you give to your own life. In other words, it's up to you and varies person to person.

That's always been my philosophy - It's up to ourselves to determine whether it's an objective long-term goal, or perhaps just a way of living that brings meaning to yours. Glad you guys are enjoying the thread ;p

Organic life is nothing but a genetic mutation, an accident. Your lives are measured in years and decades. You wither and die. We are eternal, the pinnacle of evolution and existence. Before us, you are nothing. Your extinction is inevitable. We are the end of everything.

This sounds like song lyrics to me.  Probably from some Death Metal type band.

We impose order on the chaos of organic evolution. You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we damn it.
