Black Ops got the award sponsered by Game, it was voted on by the public. All the rest were picked by the academy.

Major thing for me was Heavy Rain. Awesome and new experience which justifies the 3 awards. I like games that try to do so something new rather than trying to clone one that sells well.

I expected Black Ops to win on the people votes, sales speaks for itself though personally better quality games got awards. Might be a bit harder for Mass Effect 3 next year, lets see what you have up your sleeves.

(Slightly puzzled why it is not called the BAVGA however)

Congrats Bioware! I very recently played throught the entire game again and it was still a blast. This time it took me 40+ hours. O_O Before it took me about 27 hours to beat the game (ME2 at launch).

Indeed, well done with the best game award!! The other award, oh well, but that was down to numbers of fans voting, the best game one was a proper bafta award!! One other thing, how the heck did ME2 manage to win best game and miss out on best story?!?!?!
