is there anyone on this planet who didn't think it would instantly be leaked on the 11th?

i don't think there would even be anyone left who hadn't played the demo by feb 22nd.

Seriously, you talk to me like I'm some evil piece of #$@!?

Do you understand what I do to this community? I'm a huge fan, but I'm not keeping it for myself, I recently gave out 2 codes of Dead Space 2 armor for FREE, and tomorrow I'll be handing out another 5 FOR FREE. In fact it was on the table I might get another Gamestop demo code that I would offer too, but if the demo is pulled I can't give that either...

I'm not trying to impugn your morality.  But the code cards were pretty clear that they should not be destributed in the manner they were being.

You all understand that once you release a PC demo to 1 person it'll be put on all torrent and file hosting sites and hacked to shreds.

So? Good for me.

You don't get it: releasing demo on PC when it's not available for consoles is quite bad when most of your money comes from console versions sales.

I wonder if this is going to affect sales when GameStop employees decide to recommend another game rather than DA2 because they don't know how awesome DA2 is without a demo to play.

They will still have a demo.

They just wont have the demo earlier than the rest of the world.

The demo will not be available in advance for Gamestop employees.

The demo is still being launched on Feb 22 worldwide on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

What does it matter? These kinds of promotions of the sorts happends all the time with beta's, which is pretty much demo's by todays standard.

But they need it earlier than the rest of the world so they can recommend it to the rest of the world.

Good to know the 'world' demo is still getting released as planned, thanks Chris. :wizard:

I'm pretty sure that the only lost sales will be from angry, bitter, childish Gamestop employees who don't get DA2 eleven days early.

And the people that could've been explained the game in detail by people who've played it, though the employees can still be able to do that just... not until the 22th, which might not seem a lot time can influence quite a few sales.

The site better go up by tomorrow, if it's truely pulled I'll be ****ing pissed.

I had to be sexually abused by my gamestop friend to get my code...

Congratulations, you're probably part of the reason it was pulled.

It was for Gamestop employees only.  The fact that gamestop employees were going around giving them out to random strangers and their friends is probably why it's not happening.

Let's face it, trusting Gamestop employees not to hand out these codes is like looking for a babysitter in a crack house.

I dont think they are THAT persuasive of sales people.  People will buy what they want to buy.

...you're being serious?

Look, I really don't care what people did to try and get a Gamestop code.  If I had a buddy at Gamestop I woulda been hitting them up for one myself and I definitely would have tried to play it.

But I wouldn't lie to myself about the fact I was being deliberately dishonest in circumventing the agreement.  Let's get real, here.  And because of that, I wouldn't really feel I'd have a right to be upset if my attempt at dishonestly playing a demo to which I had never been intended to play had been prevented.  That'd be a pretty unreasonable entitlement to expect.

Totally lame. I was looking forward to this all week. :( All I wanted was to get a clip of FemHawke talking, too. (I'm a little worried marketing will pounce in and stop Mike from playing as FemHawke in the live chat tomorrow too.)

I still fail to understand why they keep it such hush hush.

I think that they are secretly using a mind control device to alter FemHawke's voice so that we all become brainwashed zombies that will help BioWare in their conquest to take over the world.

Just sayin'.

Yeah... I don't think I've ever seen a Gamestop employee sell a game (as in, convince someone they should get something). Usually they just ring up whatever is brought to them by the next person in the 10-deep line. Sometimes they make a comment on the game as they are cashing them out... if they're not busy talking on the phone.

This is absolutely hilarious. Thanks for making me laugh on a rotten day, Bioware marketing team.
