Not sure if this is truly a technical deal, but I wish the save mechanics were a little more like Dragon Age Origins. I have tried to create multiple saves for various points in the game that I want to try for an alternate outcomes later. However, intead of save 1, 2, 3 so on, we get save 100, 102 and they grow with each save. Does anybody else find this difficult to manage various saves and have a good system to deal with this?

Isn't that just the amount of times you have saved it? You aren't seriously making 100+ saves in different slots are you? And no I don't find it difficult. It's exactly the same as Mass Effect and works fine. Each save tells where when and where you saved, so I don't see a problem.

I actually like the way the game counts the number of saves you've made. If anything, it makes it easier to manage my saves.

Not having played Mass Effect, I'm not familiar with it. And yes, I'm a save freak. Having an option to save at any point is very much utilized. When you create a new save, it takes off from your current save count. Therefore, all of your saves kinda run together. It will say, Normandy 1, 2, 3 however, if you get to a decision point, it becomes less clear of which save it is. In DA:O save one remained save one. You knew which path you were going to do and could track it. If you saved all slots in camp, you still knew which one it was. Writing down which save is which is kinda difficult when it is everchanging. I hated save points in games. I screwed up at the end of FF VII, and didn't prepare for the Sephiroth battle. So, I save a bunch now.

There should be a trophy for completing the game in less than 100 saves :-)

The newest save is always at the top of the list.

You only need two saves for a JRPG seeing as most of them have no decisions in them other than "do I go into this dungeon without saving". One is the world map before the point of no return and the other is the I'm the dungeon and scared of the bogey man/Sephiroth. There is nothing wrong with ME's save system. Stop making so many saves and remember where you were. It takes 2 seconds to into your journal and read what you have done....well longer on the PS3 maybe.

Or play again do everything the opsite what you've already done and your save problems will be solved.
