One final thing, could you please confirm the conditions for the epilogue slide where Connor is sent away to be trained as a mage and goes to Tevinter, please?

If he survives and is not taken over by the demon.

Really? Just that? Odd. I've never had that slide before.

Ah, it looks like Arl Eamon also has to go back to Redcliff I think.  It's pretty convoluted though.

You really should work for Bioware, ejoslin! They should be paying you something at least!
Any ideas on what causes Alistair to disappear, though?

Eeeep, work, as a responsibility?  *grin* You sound like my husband now!  (why don't you do this stuff for someone who will PAY you?  Because, dear, then they EXPECT work out of me and it's no longer fun!)

But no, there's no issue in the script here, I don't think.  If Alistair is at the final battle and survived, or if he is married to Anora, he's should be there.  Gah, changing this script is getting more and more tempting.  Just have Eamon there no matter what as Anora does say that, and have Cyrion there only if he survived...

Speaking of Cyrion his post coronation talk with a PC that did not save Shianni is weird, quite possibly bugged. He does his usual loving and praising lines and nothing else which makes no sense considering where you leave things in the alienage (You're not welcome in my house).

I have never had Alistair in the post-coronation scene in any of my playthroughs --though I've only had 3 so far. Playthrough (1) he was dead; Playthrough (2) he wasn't there --my PC had left him at the Denerim gates so I thought he was sulking, but then I got the epilogue slide saying that he eventually followed "his love" (my CE, who was trying to ditch him by running off with Sten and Zevran); Playthrough (3) he was off being drunk somewhere.

you know...  I wonder if that's it.  OOOOOH!  I bet if you leave him at the gates and he's not king, he doesn't show!  Gah, checking this now.  Thank you!

Edit: That's exactly it.  The mystery of the disappearing Alistair is solved.

Ta-daaa. . .So glad I could help. :wizard:

I thought that was pretty predictable Alistair behavior. I was actually relieved not to see him --if he had been there, my CE and he would have had to have a very awkward talk. "Uh. . .I know that you and I had kind of a thing going, and I let you think that my reasons for forcing you to sleep with Morrigan and then leaving you at the gates had something to do with my wanting to save your life, but actually I don't really care if I ever see you again, and Zevran and I are going home with Sten. Kthxbai." My CE was not exactly a scrupulous kind of a gal.

yea, he has to survive, not be taken by the demon and Eamon has to go back to Redcliffe.  In my last playthrough I put Anora solo on the throne and the slide fired off for me.  Right before this one it said Eamon returned home to Redcliffe.

Yep, me too! That was my solo run, so everybody got to stay at the gates.

Good point. This does sound kinda in-keeping with Alistair. Are we thinking this is a bug or deliberate?

Well, I don't know. At first I thought it was deliberate, because I had left Alistair at the gates and he was so hurt and confused at the time (he was unhardened, and he and my CE were in what he thought was a relationship); but then when I saw the epilogue slide that said that he traveled with "the woman he loved" for a while, I thought maybe it was a bug --or maybe the epilogue slide was a bug. I'm inclined to think the latter. If he's not king and you leave him at the gates, it's in-character for him not to show up for the ceremony. But my CE's behavior was pretty duplicitous and I wouldn't be surprised if it caused a buggy response in the epilogue.

the epilogue slide is working as intended -- he just needs to be in love, not exiled, and alive.

Edit: This script, I'm extremely nervous about changing.  It does not compile cleanly for me -- I'm really afraid of messing everything up!

In truth, I'm still so blown away by Oghren's bugged post-coronation dialog.  Wow.  What a shame :(

Well making people aware of bugs so they can avoid them is a big help. If they want Alistair at the coronation, don't leave him behind. I might amend the wiki, actually...

Btw, what does Oghren say?

It depends on race if he's friendly.   let's assume elf right now.  Starting it in the middle, just before it gets bugged.

Oghren: I'm getting used to that big sky up there. And I'm thinking I might just look up Felsi again... see where that goes? (Felsi is his girlfriend, he's thinking of settling down -- who'd have thought?)
Warden: That's uncharacteristically optimistic of you.
Oghren: Yes, well, you know me. I'm all about the cheery, romantic optimism. (amused sarcasm)
Oghren: And... since we're more or less done adventuring for now, I wanted to say... you're all right. For an elf. (grudging admission)
Warden: And you're all right. For a dwarf.
Oghren: Heh. Yes... (amused)
Oghren: I don't come by... by friends very often. I'm glad to call you one, Warden. (a rare moment of seriousness, he's not one to express fondness and this should be awkward for him -- but a warm fuzzy for the player)

Yes, this fix is up on ZDF's page as an update file...

I'm uploading it to youtube, but as usual, youtube is slow, so I won't put up a link until tomorrow.

And here it is!  Oghren's friendly dialog, post-coronation.  So many of the good moments, bugged to hell in the vanilla game :(

Yes, I thought it was Felsi standing next to Ogren when he was talking about looking her up. Weird.

Yeh, but that's in the vanilla game -- him talking about her with her standing right there. What I enabled was the thing he said about friendship.
