Oh god lulz.
This is almost as funny as when BW Edit: Fine that was unkind. When BW "talked" about JRPGs.

well he's right. W2 is a gfx powerhouse, but DA2 will work on alot more pc's and sell ALOT MORE due to this.

I prefer that they concentrated on the story and the characters.
And didn't try to sell a weak adaptation of an otherwise good novel with fancy graphics but nothing more.
DA2 has a more or less uniquie artistic style by the way. That's more than enough.

He has a point for the graphics department. I haven't played witcher1 so I don't know how well they are able to bring their world and story alive. That said I'm glad Bioware is getting some serious competition. I will for sure play both (but please witcher release on Mac).
The good/evil part might be somewhat true but I think less for for DA:2

I'll just pop in to say that i LOVED the Witcher 1 Slideshow and that should settle this... doesn't it?

It never occurred to me that the reason Da2 looks so ugly is because it allows more acessability for the pc fanbase...I wonder if that's intentional?

wow, he just more or less said that bioware makes their games black and white or good and evil. thats kind of not professional to put down other developers to look good themselves.
edit: he's right on the graphics

I don't know that I agree with him on "generic fantasy world," but I can definitely agree with him on the graphics. They've really made TW2 look beautiful with that new engine.
I'm looking forward to both games.

The morality in The Witcher seemed pretty black and white to me. It offered a gray path, but few decisions struck me as muddled in ethical questions as they oft imply.
Still a good game, and I'm still looking forward to both.
The generic fantasy world comment seems like an unneccessary swipe at Bioware's artists, though. A few of the comments from CD Projekt give me the impression they could use a lesson in professional courtesy. But it's not really my place to call them out for such things.

I preferred Laidlaw's answer to that sort of thing, really. Bioware devs just seem so adorable and friendly...

Lame. So Dragon Age is generic, but Witcher is oh so original? Oh and the always excellent argument of better graphics. So what? I rather play a game that I'm interested in that might not have great graphics, than a game I have zero interest in that has outstanding graphics.

I'd prefer if he wanted to make his game look good that he didn't pretend DA:O was something it wasn't. Pretending DA:O was black and white? Really?

There is no amount of opinionating which can place Dragon Age II's graphics on the same level as The Witcher 2's.Russalka wrote...

Frankly the witcher graphics look uninspired (almost like the DA:O ones), while DA2 has a very strong flair and are quite stylized. DA2 wins it for me.

CD Projekt sure got cocky for a group of people that used to do almost nothing but polish translations of Bioware games.

Can't exactly agree with the "generic fantasy world", if he meant the story. The Witcher world is amazing, but I find Dragon Age's world quite interesting too.
Stylistically/graphically? Yes, esp. that the Witcher 2 looks better. It does look better.
And that it would be unplayable on a lot of PCs? Is that console fanboism speaking or simple lack of knowledge? PCs have graphical settings and are scalable, you know.

I just don't see their reason behind it.
It's like if the Dead State devs were stating that We have more zombies that Star Wars does!
Makes no sense. It just the trying to get attention type of comment by them. I guess.

Yeah. Bioware had the better answer and it's not like they are competing directly. I mean most of us will by both as well as human revolution and (not me) the oblivion one. They compete in the sense that your company might become irrelevant if you don't invent enough (around the story telling and graphics)
