20 hours for Me2 are you kidding me are people just rushing through the game these days,it took me exactly 41 hours 55 mins to complete everthing in Me2 without the Dlc.

Uhm no, there simply are people who are much more experienced in video games than you and thus get the tactics straight, get combats over faster and in general, know how to do stuff because they already did it for quite a few times.

Just finished ME 2 after about 20 hours, never skipepd a dialog, got the perfect ending and bought most upgrades. Yes, I did not scan every planet but seriously, whoever did that is just...not that smart.

And...dude people just rush posts nowadays just rushing through posting it took me less than 5 seconds to make that post and punctuation is for noobs lolollol

Seriously though, it's easier to read your posts with more or less correct spelling.

I expect it to be 35-45 hours if you do everything. I'll be doing lots and lots of playthroughs. 60 bucks/35 hours(low estimate)x10 playthroughs(low estimate)=.17

17 cents per hour, seems like a deal to me.

I would have estimated the playthroughs at 5 not 10. I'd use five because 2 Rogue (Dual Wield and Archer) 2 Warrior (S&B and 2H) and Mage. I know there are different mage trees so we will have to wait until we see the mage trees to be sure.

Still not a bad deal though B)

Am I the only one that likes long complex old school dungeons? I love both the Fade and the Deep Roads, as well as the many rewards and surprises one can find by exploring them. Very satisfying. A dungeon crawl shouldn't last 10 minutes.

It depends on how good they are, whether things are rushed. I found some sections of DA:O "artifically" long. (Deep Roads, anyone?)

Yep.  I loathe both the Deep Roads and the Fade.

Fade is less than 2 hours long. DR ended by the time I was getting tired of it, so there´s a point.

It's going through almost the entire mage tower and then having to do the fade that burns me out.  The first time through that whole sequence was my favorite part of the game.  Nowadays it's my second least favorite, above the ordeal that is the Deep Roads.  Although it is a pretty distant second.

ME - 28 hours
DAO - 56 hours
Awakening - 12 hours
ME2 - 36 hours (47 with DLC)

100% enjoyment.

I see you failed to mention difficulty setting.  Doubt you play on Insanity, right?

How can you NOT rack up over 50 hours played?

Yes, but only if it has a lot of replay value. That's what I liked the most about Origins. Just at first glance, DA2 seems  like it will have less replay value (3 classes, 2 genders, 1 race) than Origins, but ya never know.

Skip the fade, cut-scenes, and lower the difficulty.

DAO had hours of pointless and boring sidequests, not to mention the deep roads and the fade which just dragged on for way too long with little companion interactions and cutscenes but instead pointless combat every 2 minutes and that got old fast.
That said, I think 30-35 hours is more than enough for DA2.
EDIT: The fade actually was pretty interesting in DAO so I was being a little too harsh. It was still too long though. Now DAOA fade is a different story, definetly a more interesting, less dull and more lively place than DAO fade.

Yes and I just came back from war, just after finishing my third university grade, after saving 2 towns from total destruction all on my own.

English ain't my native language either and to get the first paragraph's message clear: I don't believe you. At all.

Not to mention that a faster player doesn't necessarily mean a better one.  There's something to be said for savoring the experience, and sometimes it's worth it to try different things just to make the game interesting.  Like playing on higher difficulty levels without mages, or not using freeze/shatter or paralyze or forcefield or trying to play through the game solo.

I know some people enjoy doing the same exact run over and over as quickly as possible.  I can respect that.  But  I'm not one of those people.  I get bored to death doing that.  I can't do it DAO, I can't do it ME2 (go with different companions every time), I can't even do it in MMOs (end game raiding is my bane).

I'm not all that interested in turning a game I love into a mindless grind.

My Origin's playthroughs range from 45ish to 55ish hours in the four I have completed. That includes Ostagar, Soldier's Peak, and Shale. My ME2 runs range from 33ish to 50ish hours including Hammerhead, Overlord and Shadowbroker. If you want to take your time you can make a game last quite a while, the "average completion" time BioWare will provide will depend highly on how you play.

As long as I come away satisfied with my experience, the length of the game isn't that important to me.

Depends on the scope of the game.
Is it long enough to go from peasant to god-killing abomination? No.

Many, many, many books and movies do it in a much shorter time.

Also, it takes me about forty hours to complete DAO. A bit more with DLC. And that's completing every sidequest I can find.

If there's replayability, length isn't often an issue.

Nah. Dungeon crawls are awesome. I loved the Deep Roads. They made me feel clausterphobic, tired, and a little paranoid, and I think that was the point. It was a dark and nasty place. I wasn't meant to feel carefree.

My issue with the Fade section is not necessarily the length, but the design. It became boring because it was very drab. Being the literature major and hipster jerkoff that I am, I didn't not find the level of symbolism and surreallness that I imagined was in store for me. I saw what they were trying to do with the melty walls and floaty chairs but it just didn't reach that point of strange-to-the-point-of-feeling-sick-to-my-stomach that I wanted.

More than enough, makes it easier for those wanting to do multiple playthroughs. To those talking about dungeons and length; the only dungeon I loathed to get through (after several playthroughs) was anything Fade related.

I'm disappointed that it's shorter than DA:O. I think it should at least have been near that length.

They said longer than awakening and shorter than Origins.

First Origins play through - 60h

Average Origins play through - 35-40h

First Awakening play through - 20h

Second (and final) awakening playthrough - 12h

So hopefully the game will be about 45-50h first time and 30-35h average after that. cross fingers!!!

That was actually my problem with the deep roads.  The whole thing is monotonous, from the atmosphere to the enemies.  There really wasn't much to see or to do in any of the thaigs, and it just kept going and going and going.  It seemed less like an adventure than a chore.
