No, we're NOT talking about having the exact same hairstyle, because they do NOT have the exact same hairstyle.

Look at the screenshots of Varric on the dragon age page. He does not have hair hanging loose in the front. Anders does.

They AREN'T the exact same. They both have pony tails and are blond, other than that they aren't that similar. Varric's bangs are completely pulled back and even look kinda receding... Anders has bangs and his ponytail seems to be longer.



Although, it's not like walking out into the real world you don't see 15 people with the exact same hairstyle.



It's not like they look the exact same in any other way so honestly, I couldn't care less. The whole being able to use the same hairs as our companions does bother me though. Kinda weird that only Morrigan and Oghren had unique hairstyles in DA:O.

What happened to "unique" and "iconic"? 

Frankly I normally wouldn't care but the devs keep chanting "unique" and "iconic" with character designs. Why give two different characters such similar hairstyles?

My guess is because Anders had a ponytail in Awakening, so to keep him looking recognizable they stuck with it, and because it fits Varric's personality.



If it were a more unique hairstyle, like the braided pullback thing for males in DA:O (like the one my character has, Zevran has, Eamon has, etc etc etc...) I could see it being a concern. But this isn't that unique. And with Varric not having bangs, and clearly receeding temple hairline, it's obviously they did make his different.

They aren't...too alike. Anders' looks more like a regular ponytail, and Varric's is half-up, half-down.

True. It's just that the hair looks so bland and uninspired to me. /shrugs.

Because the IGN (and other gaming sites) are inconsistent with the quality of video they publish.....sometimes it looks super (as intended) and other times it looks like 3rd generation VHS quality.....and in this case the latter applies.

To be fair, I think some of why it looks like ... well, like **** is because of the use of origins models here :S That child model was crap in DA:O, why bring it back? The newer models are going to make the older ones look really, really terrible ...

They stick out like a sore thumb in that video.
