1) I nearly had an angry fit when the only char options were default male or female, warrior, rogue or mage. Thankfully, character customizing happens, but after the tutorial level is played (phew!). Posted Image

That's all I'll say for now. Despite the fact you can't choose your race (silly, silly, silly...) I think you're all in for a treat!

I actually didn't know that you had to pick default first, and then customize later.

I wouldn't so hastily dismiss the guy though, as there's a reason we know what we do.

That info was already known

Weren't they supposed to be having demos in Hong Kong and Poland and Czech Republic or something?

So maybe someone went to one of those and thought they'd relay that and we already knew all of it, so what? I don't understand the vitriol here.

if you have played the game, then you sould be able to name some specific talents or spells, especially in the Specialization trees.

What are some of the Force Mage spells?

Sir OP, I don't see why this couldn't be true. But some new info might be appreciated. Particularly on specific spells or companion join times.

Can you please PM me where you got your hands on? Not that I'm doubting you... well... maybe a bit.

I just like to check that these claims are true. :)

Actually, several people who have played the demo at conventions have said this. I am pretty sure it’s all in the official demo thread. Also, if you watch the gamestar german video, it shows someone going to CC before the game starts, I believe. But yeah. This has been discussed many times.

Yeah, but they're claiming that they have the FULL game

Oh wait..re-reading their post, I don't think that's what they meant. Unless they edited it when I wasn't looking.

I bet that information is "classified".

But honestly, after seeing the posts of Woo and Priestly, neither of whom locked this thread, I'm intruiged. If you're telling the truth, and if people like you have sampled the game, and can tell about it in such a casual manner, some detailed information can easily be leaked earlier than it's supposed to.

You remind me of that dork on youtube who said he met the producer of Diablo 3 and the guy gave him a copy of it to play. You're clearly full of crap. You basically just told us all things we all already know without playing the game in a weak attempt to get some attention.

Lol - I don't care for attention, but I'm not making this up. I've played through the intro and that's what I know. If you guys already know this stuff I just said - why would I bother announcing it on here? And if I wanted attention, wouldn't it be more logical for me to just make up some random stuff?

So you already knew ALL that stuff I just said? ALL of it?

Actually, yes. We do know every single piece of information you have.

Tell me, and answer fast:

What were you asked to do before the game began? The set-up process?

What class did you choose, and what companions did you have by time you left Lothering?

Where is your home base and how do you get it?

Answer fast. Although it proves nothing, since anyone knows this stuff. But pray you don't get anything wrong.

Well, after starting a new game I could choose a male or female warrior, mage or rogue. All six were pre-desinged on a black screen, lined up in a row. when you choose one, they'd step forward, swing their weapon, and you'd clik "accept". I started the game running away from darkspawn - killing as I went - and a giant horned demon came out. I was on some kind of mountain top cliff-edge. I was with some chick who looked like the dark-haired babe from Mass Effect 2, and someone's older mother (mine or hers), and we bumped into another group of four who were trying to escape darkspawn. (Sorry if it's vague but I was also played the DA1 expansions all last night too, and I'm a bit muddled).

After you play the tutorial part you lose the temporary skills you have, and get to start your char from scratch. You customise detailed facial features as expected, and for the "pre-story" (from origins) you can do four things: 1, select the the default story (essentially a human saved Fereldin), or two alternate pre-stories (an elf saved fereldin/a dwarf saved fereldin), or you can load your previous character's decisions and outcomes.

Skill trees are on the right hand side of the screen. As  a warrior, I chose Beserker, but there were five other skill trees I could choose from. They operate from left to right, and (I may be wrong) but it seemed like I wasn't restricted to the one class type (like I could mix and match).

Oh and stats (STR, DEX etc) still go up in 3's when you go up a level. I can tell you more but I'd have to turnit on again and take notes.

Dragon Age 2 will have you playing as a character named Hawke, who is related to the Magi origin Human from Dragon Age: Origins!

Hm, well now I'm a bit skeptical as well. How would you have a demo?

He wouldn't. The only Hands-On's Bioware has been giving have been moderated by Bioware employees, hence why everytime a preview shows up on Kotaku for example, 3-5 more show up on sites like IGN, Joystiq, Destructoid, Giant Bomb and the like. The earliest a demo will be available for anyone outside of Bioware(whose consoles are debug models) is tomorrow, when the Gamestop demo is available.

2) It's true that you can't choose your race, you can only be human -which no matter what the reason - I think is a huge mistake. The best thing DA1 did was offer different intro stories for different races. Even if you never played all the intros, just knowing they're out there waiting enhances the quality of the game. IMO, one origin with a great deal of depth and the entire narrative tailored around it is better than six origins that all plug into the same narrative.

None too surprised by that, considering it would've been up on the internet by the end of the day.

you mean *would* have been available.  Interestingly, for security reasons, it is no longer available to Gamestop employees at an early date and instead will be released during the public demo release later in the month, world-wide, all platforms as far I as I know anyway.

There are five skill trees, but there's no base warrior spec that I see. You simply choose from different types of classes, somewhat similar to how mages picked schools of magic, and then could have specializations on top of them.

Hm...I'm not so sure he's lying. I'm not convinced he's telling the truth.

I thought he was talking about having the whole game. He appears to have only the prologue, which is odd, because the demo includes a part of Isabela's mission.
