You don't have to do both. The Ashes only become a site of pilgrimage if all three* of my above criteria are fulfilled. If any one of them is not, then the Ashes will ultimately fall into myth once more.

*Actually four - I forgot one: you mustn't destroy the Ashes for Kolgrim either. But I guess that one's obvious...

My human noble married hardened Alistair to Anora and spared Loghain. That moment at the landsmeet I realized Alistair is simply unfit to be an warden. He is too emotional, ethical and moral. Good traits for an king, but not an warden. They are all about sacrificing everything for the greater good, but Alistair is completely unable to do that. Ironically, Loghain is an much better warden, since he knows very well what it's like making sacrifices for the greater good.

Blast it! I completely overlooked the fact that you don't have to take Genitivi along at all, that you can send him back to Denerim without further ado. I always thought that the only choices for preserving the ashes were killing Genitivi or foregoing Wade's superior plate. And since my objection to the relic fraud is of a moral nature I couldn't very well go around killing misguided scholars, could I.

I don't blame you forgetting. To be honest, it is a little bit odd - Genitivi clearly knows where the temple is, so why would he be unable to explain it to others? But there we are.
