DICE awards had an award for best character performance... was happy to see Male Shepard get nominated... but no nomination for femshep... that made me sadface.

Regardless, Red Dead won it.

Though I guess femshep can't get nominated since something like only 20% of people who play ME2 played a femshep.

John Marston is a good character but after catching up on my backlog of games from last year I had yet to play I have to say Ethan Mars (and Heavy Rain as a whole) are better than Red Dead. It should of gotten a lot more GOTY consideration last year.

Yeah, last year someone from Bioware was quoted in an IGN article about some of the recorded stats from ME2... most popular classes, percentage that finished the game, etc.. one of those stats was % of people who played femshep, and at that time, it was around 20% or so.

Actually 80% play the default Shepard, you know, male/default appearance/soldier/earthborn/sole survivor, so more than 90% probably play as maleshep of any kind. But yeah, this forum can make you feel like a total weirdo if you play maleshep, especially with the default appearance. Goes to show that those who make a lot noise aren't necessarily in the minority.

Anywho. Im not surprised Red Dead won another IGN award. Its a good game but they believe its the Second Coming of video games. They win everything their nominated for on IGN. The male Shepard is the most played (and in my honest opinion, the better voice actor in ME2, not ME1 though), also the default Shepard is male so its not a big surprise that He got niminated and not She.
