True. I was thinking that Kahlee could fill a job Similar to that of Mordin's. She is one of humanity's brightest scientists after all. But combat-wise Anderson would be better.

You might get both since Kahlee is sticking with Anderson for protection.

But then again, Shep would probably be much better protection, though I wouldn't object to having Anderson as an XO

Sanders and Anderson are marked targets by Cerberus.
I'm sure them joining anti-Cerberus Shepard would make sense and set-up Anderson as a squaddie

Too noticeable, if they were to move on them Anderson is way too far up the chain. About the only way that Cerberus would have a legit shot at them is if they joined up with Shepard and were running around the Galaxy instead of sitting on the Citadel in the public eye. IMHO that is. I could be wrong though.

If they are gonna make Leng an option as a squaddie, they should make it an either or situation. Gillian or Leng. I'd take Gillian every time... more squish people Biotic power is always good. I've already got plenty good enough Soldiers on my team, especially once I get the VS back.B)

I detect the pungent aroma of excuses. How does Anderson fail? Udina backslide on the menace, Anderson didn't. He didn't stop even when no one would listen. If Udina had backed him we wouldn't have the burning bag of crap on our doorstep when ME2 starts.

Before you trot out the but the Alliance was behind his action line let me remind you that BOTH human representative telling everyone that the threat was real would have cause a "political ****storm" as Udina puts it. The Alliance wouldn't have been able to backslide had he backed Anderson.

Anderson tells you he sucks in ME2 and in ME Retribution he messes up real bad even resigns his position.

ANderson is rapidly losing power on the Council while Udina remains a strong advocate for Humanity.
Politics are politics going public that the end is near is a bad PR move.

Supposition inaccurate  the Council sent Shepard to his death, they got tired of SHepard spreading his theory on the Reapers and were hoping the Geth would kill him..

Shepard has no physical evidence to back him so the COuncil and Alliance have no reason to believe SHepard about the Reapers.
Anderson sounds just as insane as SHepard by believing SHepard 100% when SHepard has no evidence.

Udina answers to the Alliance as the Alliance representative he relays their interest to the Council

Unless SHepard is dumb enough to attack Cerberu.   Cerberus won't attack Shepard or his crew because Cerberus needs Shepard to defeat the Reaprs.

Nobody knows where Gillian is and plus Gillian is like 15 or 16 in ME2.
I still think it should be either ANderson or Kai Leng since either can inform you about the important events of Retribution ]

Many great men believed that they were failing until history proved that they were in fact doing very well. Many , and I mean many of our Greatest leaders had this same issue. It was what made them great. Never believing that they were doing enough pushed them to do more.

As for Udina, you seem to imply that he lacks a brain and is nothing more than an Avatar of some group mind. He was continuously discounting every piece of information that Shepard brought in. This whole mess is the biggest plot hole in the game.

Cerberus has MANY, MANY highly placed, wealthy backers. They paid for Cerberus to rebuild Shepard and the Normandy so that (s)he could lead the fight against the Reapers. Yet somehow Cerberus, TIM and their backers couldn't put enough pressure behind the scenes on TPTB (the powers that be) to force some action against the threat? Not buying it. What did they do, shoot their wad on the Leadership of the Terra Firma Party? Gimme a break.

The Asari have the ability to share thoughts, yet the Asari Councillor doesn't do a thing to prove the veracity of Shep's or his team's claims? Sorry, this is one badly forced plot on this and other issues. Leng and Retribution was even more full of holes.

On top of all of this there is almost no action on screen that would reflect some form of build up? Oh, and the story about people not believing that the Alliance could stand up to the Geth and was having problems meeting recruiting quotas? Didn't Anderson tell us that the Geth aren't a boogie man anymore? Huh, can't stand up to them eh?

Pungent aroma indeed.

So they'd be safe on the Normandy and I think it was Leng who said Anderson was too high up to act against in Retribution so Cerberus ain't going after them. On top of that TIM actually wants more people working on the threat. Why bother to hit them at all? It would be counter productive.

We first meet Gillian right after the Battle of the Citadel. Retribution is three years later (or there abouts). Gillian is in her late teens by now. 15-16 in ME2 would make her 16-17 in Retribution. We'll see how much time passes between ME2 and ME3.

I'm  going to be very blunt Anderson f****d up BIG TIME!  He quit on the Allliance and the Citadel Species so he's not a very popular guy right now

Udina had your back plenty of times in ME1 its just that one event that stands out to people.
I haven't call Udina incompetent Image IPB

You forget the Council tells you "we believe that you believe in the reapers"Image IPB
Plus Shepard sounds like a religous zealot claiming the end is near.

Anderson is a push-over in the old council and the new Council he tells you himself

Why would Gillian even join your squad she bhas no combat training and why would shewant to put herself in the middle of danger.  She's autistic and likes being around things that are familiar

All of the books are like ~130 pages with hardly any text on each one.

No one has a life if they go on forums, who are you kidding.

Most people here have lives and jobs.

I think Kai Leng will be in ME3, but not as a companion (thank goodness). My guess is he'll be a villain, and he'll be just like what became of Grayson in Retribution. I think BioWare learned from their mistake of not having an identifiable villain like Saren in ME2, and Kai Leng will take that role in ME3.

Tends to happen when someone does not accept what the definition of a word is.

He seems more like the kind of character you could build a spin off game around anyway. As long they have a an outcome for ME3 that is fixed.

They just don't sound very good... Game writing is one thing to overlook I have a great understanding that game writing, where you make choices needs to be loose, and characters need to be a bit larger than life for gameplay reason. I won't accept that in a book though where none of that is required.

A sociopath as a crewmate would be fascinating! not saying that he is! Besides wouldn't zaeed or jack also be considered a sociopath?

Zaeed isn't a sociopath.

Jack probably wouldn't be considered one either, maybe.

Zaeed only thinks of Zaeed, he lets innocents be killed, and he has no problem killing anyone for money.

Stupid, just because you have no life doesn't mean that every other person here on the forums doesn't . Your name fits you well....perhaps imbecile would be an even better choice.

Game novels are a chance to explore other parts of a game universe that is of course optional, but lets writers flesh out some prologues or segues in-between, as those were the roles of all three books. You don't have to read the books, but if you don't you'll unfortunately be out of the loop to others who have. Whether that will affect ME3's story is yet to be determined, as is the purpose of this thread.
