- Romantic options unconstrained, you meet a party member chances are you can "bone" them. his words not mine. Your siblings being the obvious exceptions.

OK, nobody has anything to say about this?

Nobody???

Aveline isn't an LI, so it's not quite true :(

4 out of 7 is still more than half.

Edit: Hence, chances say that they are.

Maybe all of the companions the reviewer thought to try to romance were romancable, they just didn't try Aveline. No idea. It does seem like an obvious discrepancy.

45-60 hours on a DAO playthrough? my first playthrough DAO wasn't even 30, and that was with me doing just about every quest I found.

I would just put it down as a reviewer going a little over the top with his wording, he's basically just saying you have plenty of options when it comes to who you bed.

Just the same as him stating he equipped Aveline with the best armour, I just read that as he equipped her with the best gear where he could.

Maybe you can help her get better armor. As in promotions etc.

Anyone who discredits this review needs to realise how silly their conspiracy theories sound.

Either that,  or they need to  keep a mental note on which magazine gave which game a good review, then trust/or not trust that magazine based on their own experiences of the game.

For example, I think it was Gamespot that gave Awakening a glowing, and very high score.  But after *I*  finally got my hands on Awakening... and played it....and saw for myself what a   bugged,  rushed, overpriced  turd it really was from the ground up, the first thing on MY mind was:  Wow...   so much for  Gamespot  reviews!

It's not a matter of conspiracy theories. You can say the exact same thing about Bethesda. Here's another developer which the american gaming press love as well.No matter how bugged or sloppy, critics simply eat it up and that's all there is to it.PC gamer has Oblivion as their 3rd best game of all time.

There is a bias toward some developers, while other like Obsidian will be punished for having their games buggy or being sloppy ( to everyone: always remember the Gran theft auto IV metacritic score versus how many game of the year award it won which is nearly 0).

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but Darrah (unless I am mistaken I believe it was him) already came out and said that Aveline is not a romance option... which would be contrary to the whole "you meet a party member chances are you can 'bone' them."

This may be news to you, but you can bone people you do not have romantic feelings for, or who do not have romantic feelings for you (this is not rapechat!).

Aveline is kind of...butch. It doesnt bother me that she's not a romance option.

Not news to me, I have already stated in a few posts before yours that you may be able to have a "one night stand" type of thing with some companions, but not an actual "romantic relationship" with them.  I just know that the majority of people are looking for a "romantic relationship" thing with Varric... just didn't want anyone getting too excited only to be disappointed.

If I can take Varric from behind, that's all the "romance" I'll ever need :wizard:

Just checked play times for the 3 characters I'll be importing. Times are Origins and integral DLC only. Warrior 46 hours Mage 55 hours Rogue 52 hours. I walked never ran, tabbed through cutscenes and didn't bother overmuch with codex. never did any of the crows or slim couldry quests.

When I did those quests and didn't skip cutscenes/convos, times were nearer to 80 hours. I don't know why I'm getting longer times than most (PC btw)

EDIT: So 50+ hours stated will likely be just that for me. Sounds goodImage IPB

A rule of thumb that I've always followed for any advertised game length is to divide the amount in half. That always seemed to give me a better estimation of game time.

This is obviously very personal, but It's usually spot on in my case.

Obvious case and point, Dao was advertised in the 80-100 hour range. I do a complete full run on nightmare in 40. With my first ever run clocking in at 48. So I'm expecting Dao2 to be about 20-25.

Or impossible.  What button do you press to toggle walking/running?
