Ok, I'm now officially much more excited.

That's basically the jist of it, doesn't mention graphics at all or importing your save.

Awesome, thanks for the summary :)

OK looking over the review and trying to pick out some points.

I said up to 50 hours, it actually says upwards of 50 hours:

Dragon age 2 does it right, It's still an RPG epic, it still takes upwards of 50 hours to finish, it's still got a deep complex combat system and it's still got a well-defined supporting cast

- He praises the frame narrative and mentions this is part of the reason the game hangs together so well.

- Praises the Hawke Character (played as a male), says he comes across as awesome most of the time.

- Mentions the wheel, only very occasionally did he feel neutered by his choice, on the whole he praises it.

- He has a lot of praise for the game and the serious moral choices you have to make and how having the 10 year arc means your actions might have some very real consequences down the line, this adds to the burden of the choices you make, decisions might come back to bite you on the ass. Mentions wronged people might not even target you but your family etc

Dragon age 2's story is driven by these moments of tension and forced choice. They always feel organic and truly contextual

- Felt a little let down at first by lack of escape from the city but in the end found benefits to knowing the city backwards, allowed him to get a complete grasp on the games "complicated political system"

- Most impressive attempt he has seen at making player choices in a game mean something.

- Romantic options unconstrained, you meet a party member chances are you can "bone" them. his words not mine. Your siblings being the obvious exceptions.

- Incidental conversations are splendid, ruder, funnier and just plain better than Origins.

- Most of the companions are excellent, Bethany being the only dud as she lacks in personality :(

- Combat is rapid and satisfying but more intricate than Origins.

- Party members abilities a lot of fun, found himself rotating his party a lot.

- Basically says the game is not what you expect, didn't expect it to be as much of a tradition sequel as it is but by having Bioware lock down the context (the world and the politics) they were free to fill their creation with more character and vitality than any title in recent memory.

That's basically the jist of it, doesn't mention graphics at all or importing your save. He does at one point mention equipping Aveline with the best armour, I figured he meant rings and whatnot. Hopefully that was OK to post.

Thank you for taking the time to post this. Very encouraging.

I'm very excited. Many of the things that are mentioned in the article are stuff that I have predicted in my mind, so I'm very pleased to hear that my intuition was spot on. Bring on March 10th (release date here in Sweden) so I can embark on this awesome adventure already!

Thank you for taking the time to post this. Its nice to see so many good points.

Bold: Ha! I remember saying in a thread when people were dissing "herp derp" Carver all the time that he could
very well be the favorite sibling in this game.  Looks like I might be right. :P

Yeah, I'm with you Eclipse. I was expecting to like Carver more than Bethany. But let's be fair here, this reviewer didn't have Carver in his party so it's possible he sucks just as much. ;)

Well, if the reviewer played only one time, he didn't experience Carver. I hope to enjoy Bethany more than he did.

Not sure I trust the opinions of someone who would use "bone" as a verb in a legitimate publication.

Considering Bethany's role as plot enabler, it's saddening, but not completely unexpected.

Great, especially if it lasts 50 hours, thats the one i was worried about, that it felt too short on account on the framed narrative

I'm, in the other hand, very happy that I'm going to visit the Deep Roads a few times. They are dark, creepy, and have hundreds of endless battles. I hate them.

And, if it wasn't for the redesign of many things I didn't like, I would be even more excited about the game.

I don't think I'll mind the deep roads as much this time. Mostly because of those new rock spirit things. As long as they don't over do it with the spiders this time around.. <_<

I get the feeling that either Carver or Bethany will be fairly "boring".

Sounds like Bethany might be worth getting killed off if theres an option to do so. I dont want some boring chick dragging my party down. Can you imagine how awkward it will be having to constantly apologize for what a dud your sister is to the rest of your party.

"Yeah well, shes my sister so I cant exactly ditch her guys"

"You kill her or we will Hawke"

"Oh alright...Bethany...we need to talk..."

Or you could just not bring her to play with the other children. I don't think momma Hawke will force you.

So you're all that willing to trust one person's word about Bethany's personality?

Hell, for all we know this guy liked Oghren.

Well, I diddnt see the point of Zevran either, but alot of people liked him. I never used him in any of my play throughs. He just felt like a fake ass Antonio Banderas to me. But, to each their own. Maybe Bethany wont be so bad, but since we can only speculate, im speculating getting her killed...lol.

Right, that's my actual point, snark aside.

Everyone has different opinions on all the characters.  One person says Bethany is boring and you're all willing to jump on board with things like, "Oh, I should probably kill her. Go Carver!"
