Right, that's my actual point, snark aside.

Everyone has different opinions on all the characters.  One person says Bethany is boring and you're all willing to jump on board with things like, "Oh, I should probably kill her. Go Carver!"

This. I can like some companions, and another person could dislike them.

Well, I diddnt see the point of Zevran either, but alot of people liked him. I never used him in any of my play throughs. He just felt like a fake ass Antonio Banderas to me. But, to each their own. Maybe Bethany wont be so bad, but since we can only speculate, im speculating getting her killed...lol.

Eh... Zevran was a bit annoying be he was an alright guy once you got to know him. He's cool, and has a good sense of humor.

Though I really had no choice but to get to know him, since Leliana had to go and get herself killed... By me..

I agree with all the above. I see lots of comments around the forums saying that Sten was boring, and I thought he was far from it.

Hell, for all we know this guy liked Oghren.

If I didn't know better, I'd think you're implying that liking Oghren is a show of poor judgement, which is blatantly untrue. Oghren's development arc is a tragic one, and often misunderstood.

Be nice, I liked Oghren and I liked bone as well   It may very well be that the reviewers dialogue choices had more to to do with his impressions of his sister. Either way I don't care, good review nothing to moan and cry over.

It was a joke, though I do hate Oghren.

I find him to be nothing but a posterchild for frat boy humor.

I had to taint those ashes. I was playing a Mage bitter at the Chantry, and besides.. That dragons blood was just so tempting..

It was pointing out a character that polarizes people. There are many that hate Oghren, and many that love him.

This is the point.

Oghren was worth it just to watch him pass out in camp.

Its funny, on my third playthrough, I had Leliana, and Wynne with me on that part, and they both attacked me when I decided to take the ashes. Needles to say, I had to reload my save, and put two other party members in after that. I diddnt want them both dead.

Bethany may be the "boring" sibling. But she could still have her charm. That, and she's a Mage.. That automatically makes up for any lack of social skills she may have.

Finn is a rare exception.. <_<

Yes this.  :wizard:  Oghren was mainly a comedic element, but his story is quite tragic.  It is a case of himself not being able to be what he needs to be.  It's a question of his responsibility, and masculinity.

Good review as a whole....

The part about Bethany being boring concerns me as she was one of the companions I was most looking forward to getting to know.

I am glad to hear our choices will matter and that the dialogue wheel has problems, but not to the extent I was expecting it to have.

Oghren is the best. Oghren and Zevran were my favourite companions in DA (as long as Zevran wasn't trying to hit on me).

You're right. I love mage companions in general, and the three that Bioware gives me in DA2 will tempt me to play with all of them in my party.

This ^ I am super excited for my first playthrough now, I'm really going to enjoy making choices. Hell I might even make a character that ****s everything up on purpose.

Has he reviewed Witcher 2 as well? No. Has he even played it?

Way to be one of those "morons" you mentioned earlier, though. And Bioware, I'm sure, would enjoy if you kept sucking as well, if you get my drift.

I like the upwards of 50 hours comment. That at least means the game is stuffed with content like Origins was. I was concerned with the framed narrative that it would be a more streamlined experience, but that doesnt seem to be the case. Yes I know everyone plays games at different paces, but I like knowing ill get a phat chunk of time out of the game.

Except that she's not the only mage.  Which means that when given a choice between  a boring Bethany and a not-boring-at-all Merrill and/or Anders, many people will find themselves leaving sister  behind.

Regardless, It'd be quite foolish for any player to base his own party linup decisions on what some reviewer says.  I, for one, will be testing out all three of them  to see which one I like the best.

I wouldn´t get that excited about that. Being within game can´t be worse than ME1 - ME2 much advertised continuity turned cop out, but I don´t think there´ll be big changes in gameplay because of choices. I´d love to see a game where because of choices the way to resolve future quests changes completely, though.

Bold 1: But.. But .. She's your sister bro. You gotta stick by your fam no matter how lame they are.

Bold 2: This ^ I'm pretty much just joking around about the boring bethany bit, after all thats just his opinion. I'd recommend getting worried if a few more reviewers start saying the same thing. Hell she might end up being my favorite sibling if I can tear myself away from Mage Hawke to get to know her.. Which is unlikely.

I am too.  I was expecting a 20-30 hour game but 50 means it's loaded and robust.  I like the sound of that.  I just wish I didn't hate all the characters except Varric.  Even Hawke sounds like a posh nancy but the review gives me a little hope.

Sounds good to me, though I wasn't expecting anything but.

Also, Oghren is awesome.
