I like Vanguards cause Im a shotgun lover and going close to the enemys and pwn them is kinda my thing but when I truely learned to play with Adepts I found it one of the most fun to play. to the strongest class I would choose Sentinel cause with them I almost don't use cover and I go h2h with heavy enemys and I never died.

Engineer.

Some consider it overly specialized but if played right it can be more than a jack of all trades but master of none, it can be a master of all trades/threats you encounter in ME2.

Inferno - armor and health
Cryo - shatter enemies
Overload - shields
AI Hack - mechs
Drone - deals damage, removed enemies from cover, offers diversion
Tech Mastery - stat boost

But what about barriers you ask.  No problem.  Just equip warp ammo and once activated you don't have to wait for it to cool down thus leaving all your other skills free to use.

Engineer is by far the most underrated class in the game... despite my efforts to champion it!  LOL!

efficient/effective?

Soldier, because of the Assault rifle and the ammo powers. This is my favorite class.



Most fun class:

Adept. Not much fire power, but you get a load of biotic powers!

Once you actually learn how to use engineer then it's definitely one of the best classes in the game, the way I play it I think its actually better at close ranger than any other class and it's definitely for me the easiest to play insanity on.

Is this for ME2? In ME1 I find Infiltrators and Engineers hard as heck to play on insanity because enemies run right up to you and dance on your head. Little bit easier after level 20 but still...

My vote for fav class is Vanguard and Soldier.

Vanguard because you can crowd control with good damage, and Soldier because you can run and gun without pausing to pull up the power wheel.

You make engineer sound like the best class. I gotta try this someday

Most fun for me is Vanguard, i just love the Charge.

Most powerful seems to be Soldier, or also Vanguard if you use that recharge trick.

Soldier

Sentinel

Infiltrator

Vanguard

Adept

Engineer.



Fun though:

Vanguard

Infiltrator

Soldier

Sentinel

Adept

Engineer





I tend towards the slightly more combat oriented classes.

Vanguard, & Infiltrator are the kings of CQC.

Vanguard, & Soldier rule the crowd control.

Soldier, & Infiltrator are unstoppable at range.



Lastly though, I love charge.

 Sentinel for me.
Why? Because assault rifle or heavy pistol with tech armor and biotic/tech abilities = WIN.

My two cents:

It's hard to really pick a best class, having played everyone in both ME1 and ME2 (though I didn't beat each game with every one some I only played for a while and move on) I'd say they all have their strengths and weaknesses.



For me personally the Sentinel is the best class, but not for a first run. The Sentinel is at its best when you have unlocked Warp Ammo and after the derelict collector ship when you pick up a bonus weapon (I always get the Assault Rifle). This makes you a damage dealing tank, and a BA on the field. The first time I beat the game was with the Infiltrator and that was fun but my second time with the game was with my female Sentinel. I'm doing my insanity run with my Sentinel with AR and Warp Ammo, it'll be my second time beating the game with her and she is tearing it up; she hasn't fallen once (Hopefully posting this wont jinks me, lol) and I'm almost done with the last loyalty mission before heading to the derelict Reaper meaning I've got DR, Legion's loyalty and Omega Relay and then done.

With Soldier a close second in both categories.
