I recently bought the BG 4-in-1 pack and while playing BG 1 + TotSC I've noticed a number of odd graphical problems. Foremost is the edges around the black mask and fog - they always face to the upper left, which looks blocky and incongruous. Here are a few screenshots:

Other graphics are also affected. Birds flying through the air seem unable to turn right; they look okay while flying in any direction to the left, but if they fly right they instead turn left, making them fly sideways or backwards half the time. Projectiles always face to the bottom left no matter which direction they're fired in.

I'm not sure what's causing this or if it can be fixed, as I couldn't find anything remotely relating to it in my searches. Obviously it's not affecting my game and I can play it either way, but it is affecting my experience and it would be nice to fix it.

I think you'll need to patch the games? The patches can be found by going to sorcerers.net, I think?

I'd already patched it, and I just tried reinstalling and repatching but it still does it.

What operating system are you running? In Windows XP and later you can run the programs in compatibility mode (properties of the shortcut), doing that and/or running the game as administrator may fix your problems.



Your screenshots were BG 1 but in BG 2 you could also try enabling/disabling software rendering.

Thanks! I spent forever trying to find a fix for that. I'd actually given up.
