"How would you distinguish your game from Dragon Age 2?" Here's what he said.

Tomas Gop: "That's quite easy, actually. There are a few things that I can easily find. First, we don't have a generic fantasy world. I mean [the author] Andrzej Sapkowski spent a huge part of his life doing this. It's comfortable for us. It's consistent, it's really working. Everything is kind of logical in this world, and it works out well for us. The other thing–I don't really think it is possible to distinguish some of the things you're choosing between as 'good or bad' or 'good and evil.' We always like to think about when you have a choice in The Witcher, it's more like what I would actually do.It's not black and white, and that's the most important thing. And we look better. I mean, sorry, seriously–I love Bethesda, BioWare games, I play them. But, c'mon. You cannot be indifferent to that, you cannot omit the difference. We simply look better."

We'll be seeing a lot less of this thread if people can't keep the personal attacks and mindless game-bashing out of it. Not that I'm optimistic based on past experience with Witcher threads. Consider yourselves warned.

also, Seb, i think you should just lock these threads down asap, no warnings. I can already see this going out of control.

What can I say, I'm an optimist. I'd hate to give the impression that we lock down threads that are critical of DA2. Being a jerk and attacking fellow forum users is unacceptable, though, and controversial threads tend to attract that kind of behavior.

/sigh. If this becomes a thread talking about the first Witcher and DAO, it's getting closed for off-topic.

Unbelievably, it's okay and acceptable to be a fan of both games! I worked on one and I will no doubt be purchasing the other, because hey - more RPGs is always a good thing.

Bring it back to the land of civility, folks.

.

I also played both, and I will play both of round 2 as well. But that does not prevent people having favorites or arguing either product to be superior.

It does become a problem when it causes people to act superior and descend to vitirol and personal attacks because the person they're talking with is on the 'other' side.

Have a favourite! That's cool! Just don't assume that it gives you a right to be a twit.

I think the Witcher 2 looks fantastic. Hopefully it'll be a great game as well.

Since this isn't the Witcher forum, however, this isn't really the place to discuss it-- or argue about it, as the case may be.
