I like the voice, no question. She sounds great. But gotta admit, I was a little surprised; I can't help thinking that voice seems awfully posh for someone born and raised in a little village like Lothering. I've been assuming all this time that the Hawke family start out as farmholders or villagers--common folk.

Lifestyle (other than smoking and drinking for years) shouldn't have too much of an aspect on your voice.

Look at Susan Boyle or that homeless guy from Ohio.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Hawke's mother is not a commoner, she's a noble.

Interesting enough. At least it's not Jennifer Hale.... I like it :)

The voice had a British accent to it. I like it more than Male Hawke's voice.

Yeah, the bit that she was in ME might not be true. Or maybe that she wasn't a major character is not true.
Anyways, I really don't think it's Belinda Cornish. Really doesn't sound like her.

Belinda Cornish is totally Bethany's VA, I say. (based on her line at 3:10 in the gamespot vid)

You are right and if Mother Hawke spoke well maybe her children would too .

I'm very grateful that the DA2 team has shown LadyHawke as much as they have in marketing.

FemHawke sounds amazing. I was hoping she'd have a sort of cutesy voice... Heck I'm almost tempted to go against all my gaming beliefs and play as the default FemHawke. They really made her the perfect mixture of adorable and sexy. DEM EYES.

I feel the same way! Half the time I'm adamant about creating a new character, and the other half I'm just in LOVE with default femHawke.

I think your accent starts to change when you stay in a different region for a long time.

Morrigan was raised in a hut in the Korcari Wilds and considered Lothering a bustling metropolis but that doesn't prevent her from having the poshest voice in DA:O. Just saying.

Not
the voice itself, no.   But it will often have a lot to do with your
enunciation and delivery.   I guess I was just expecting something a
little rougher, less crisp and precise.

@Ninotchka:  Is she?  I didn't know.  If so, then all bets are off.

It's kind of a non-factor anyway.  Like I said, the voice I heard today was lovely.  And I certainly wouldn't want to go through the whole game listening to a feminine version of Bardin just for the sake of realism.  :)

Anyone think she sound similar to the person talking at the beginning of this video? I have no clue who the VA is, so I don't know if she would even meet the requirements anyway.

Who, Bardin? No. He's that farmer/merchant dude in Lothering tavern who wants you to make poison.

Lol that's the same video I linked :P  They sound similar...I think Lady Hawke's voice might be slightly deeper, but not so much that a good VA couldn't just modify their voice a bit.

Hah, my apologies, I didn't see you'd posted a link :)

But yes, I have a feeling she's done work in TOR.

It's not that I dislike it, but it's a bit too posh for my taste. I'd like it a bit rougher.

Ah, not a fan of it, unfortunately - too posh, high, feminine, it's just not my cup of tea [but it's the only thing about the game/info we've gotten I've not liked so far, and it's definitely exciting to hear it]. :C I prefer femShep's voice. I'm not keen on posh English accents like that - they tend to really grate on me.
