If Samara's 800+, that would make her a Matriarch, and that would conflict with what's stated in the evolution of her class power. Now, game mechanics, including flavor text, hasve no bearing on the lore with the exception of when it's repeating something established in the game through dialogue, character action, or the Codex. You'd think, though, that, internally, at least, the writers and the developers would be communicating about character-related stuff, since it's kind of important. Oh well.

If dismantling ships involves dismantling these drive cores, if these drive cores contain element zero, if element zero enables biotics in organics, and if industrial accidents are unavoidable, this might explain where krogan biotics come from. Krogan could have been exposed to trace amounts of eezo through unsafe working conditions, in these scrapyards. Lastly, krogans' robust regenerative abilities might have suppressed the mortality of eezo-exposed krogan infants.

I'm starting to remeber this story too. Only they did die in droves, when they started deliberately exposing themseves to Eezo, to gain those biotic ablilities. But dying in droves was always the "Krogan way", and quite justifiably so, before the genophage. But after the genophage had been deployed, this practice became unacceptable.yorkj86 wrote...

Could it come from some planet description?
As for surgery, they would need it anyway, to implant themselves with amplifier interfaces, just like any other race that wasn't initially biotic (Humans, Salarians, Turians, etc.)

Your argument in this instance, is hollow. Seeing as the events of the lair of the shadow broker happens a couple of months after whatever happens in the collector base. Atleast thats the offiicial string of events, even though you can do it before the suicide mission. So those personal mail exchanges happen in the course of a few months after Mirandas loyalty mission, and the attack of the shadow broker base. Let me also remind you. That a certain amount of time goes by, between you leave Liara in control of the shadow breaker base, and the moment you visit her and she comes up on the tv screen, and your greeted by a VI and you get access to those files.
