The Dragon Age team is very pleased today to announce that Dragon Age 2 has GONE GOLD for the PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Mac!
Gone Gold means we have shipped the game off to manufacturer to be turned into retail copies for you to buy. More importantly, it means that game will be in stoes as scheduled.
So join me in a WOOT! Dragon Age 2 has GONE GOLD!
P.S.: Stores is spelled wrong "stoes", unless Stoes is a secret BioWare facility

This, for me at least, is the most scandalous release Bioware has done yet. I really appreciate you ending the Mass Effect series this year, the way things are going for you, and the moneygrubbing shape your forming your once great company in, is distastefull to say the least, and surely not something I wish to support in the future. As soon as the stories I'm interested in ends I'm deserting. You've gotten to greedy, and my money would certainly be put to better use by a company who like the support of their customers, and don't treat it as if its something the company is entitled to.
Not only do I get cheated out of content, but I can't either be told whether the game is good or not. Way to keep up an embargo you ****ing retards. Maybe you'll sell a lot of copies today, but shouldn't educated doctors be able to have the brainpower to realize that a company might up sales on release, if customers is able to seek out whether the product at hand is worth the money. Its simple math..
Its astonishing that a company who used to be everyones fan-favourite, has gone into such a steep decline, and that retaining such a position again would seem impossible, only due to be moneygrubbing ****s.
Worst dissapointment to come out of Canada. I'm glad I was able to see and play Biowares games when both they and the company was in its prime. Maybe the good doctors ought to consider medicine again. It suits no one to be dicks.

The Escapist just ran a review of the game, there is even a whole thread about it. PC Gamer, Gamestar, there is at least 3 or 4 other notable reviews out there already since February. Might want to do some BSN searches or just ... google them.Anders DK wrote...
So the game is due for release later on today, but no reviews????? What the **** is going on????

Actually I'm just as guilty as anyone of this. Heck I even own Sonic Chronicles. I'm just getting older and now games aren't being made for my demographic anymore. Fashionable is young and dumb and as humans we sway to what is fashionable. As I grew older from being young and dumb, I developed my mind and although I can be very dumb from time to time it sucks to see you no longer mattering and becoming more a of a slave with having an education and job just to produce offspring so you can fund the next generation of young and dumb.

When i bought DA:O, i spent about 80$ on the pre-ordered Collectors edition, got me a nice map
and a really cool metal box (currently in minth condition). But then all those little gadgets which were
suppose to be "special edition only" stuff like armor, etc, etc, were getting sold on the website for money,
so it was not longer anything cool about "i got the special edition". Because anyone who had DA:O, now had
all the other items which the preordered collectors edition did.
The question: When and IF i buy the pre-ordered collectors edition of DA2, will there be ANYTHING were special
which is in the game that the regular DVD's will not have?. Any special armors (that will actually be worth using)
that will never be sold on the website?.
Because frankly, i am not about to spend another 80$on a "special" order, when it doesn't give me anything special.

How can you order a 'pre-order only SE' - AFTER the game has released???

Can I just ask what happened to all the UK signature editions? My local GAME store and all of the others in the area only got one or two each even though each store took in excess of twenty pre-orders for it across all three systems? I've heard similar troubling news from other regions in the UK and even other parts of europe.
Now i, and many others, are missing all of our signature edition content.
I pre-ordered my sig ed from game, and had no probs. I think they ordered enough to cover for 'fully paid' pre orders (you can pre-order with about a fiver) and maybe 2 per store extra. I dont agree with walking into game AFTER release, and being able to buy something everyone else had to pre-order. Just my opinion, not saying its right!
EDIT - if you fully paid for it before the deadline, you should have it.

Well. After reading most of the reviews, i must say i'm somewhat glad i didn't buy the pre-order. shorter then DA:O, less story, less areas, more linear... Sounds to me they were milking the cow with the least amount of effort.
No offence mate, but you should either play the game or comment on games you have played. Its only a bit shorter than origins tbh, it is a different game, but one i thoroughly enjoyed. Yes its got a few probs, but origins didnt?? Nothing personal dude, but there is nothing more infuriating than someone hating on Bioware, WHO HASNT EVEN PLAYED IT!!

I work for GAME, and stores in the manchester area and parts of the north east were massively short shipped on signature editions (I also pre-ordered my signature edition back in december). Heard similar things from a couple of people in other parts of europe too.Spuudle wrote...

So are you saying that as an employee of game, you paid your £45 back in December, and all you got was the standard edition??. I am NOT saying there is no problem, but seven of my friends pre-ordered SE versions all from game. Everyone got theirs. I do know of one person who got let down, but they only paid a fiver deposit. There is a small independent shop in Bradford, west yorks who has about 15 sig eds for sale if that helps? A friend of mine rang and paid via cred card on the 11th and got it del'd.
EDIT im in Leeds by the way, so north east area too.

I paid a fiver deposit. The actual stores were only taking £5 deposits, it was only the website that was taking the full amount (at least thats how its supposed to work,, your store might have done something a little different). It absolutely sucks. There was a massive balls up somewhere in the delivery process from EA. Head Office doesn't even know whats happened as EA wont tell them.Spuudle wrote...

Its not biowares fault, and Dragon Age II is still an awesome game, but i just feel frustrated at missing out on content i was promised

It does suck, and you have my sympathies mate. Your right in that it has nothing to do with Bioware. You probably know better than me working for them, but I suspect it may have something to do with returns maybe? I mean, me and my friends all got from GAME stores that took £45deposits in full. Leeds/Bradford/Halifax/Trafford Centre. The only stories ive heard is that £5 deposits have been let down. Now that seems odd! Maybe GAME wanted to return if not collected or maybe wanted to sell if not collected and EA refused. I agree that GAME generally take £5 deps for pre-order, but Leeds Centre for definate asks for full amount on any special editions or always have done with me. I have yet to hear of anyone from GAME who paid £45 being let down. Maybe an order **** up? Whatever, it certainly sucks. Id certainly be at my boss for a free 1200MSP's in compensation so I could download. Its only a slightly different case, with codes inside and sig ed on disk. Id be interested to know what the outcome is, if u get one?
