Blood on people's face while talking STILL LOOKS AWFUL!!!

Yeah...it looked way more over the top than even Origins. I really wish there was an option just so that it didn't get all over their face. I mean I wanted to scream at Isabela to just wipe that giant puddle off her face the whole time she was talking.

Anyway, while this didn't alleviate most of my concerns I still have, this sort of a walkthrough where you see a little bit of everything was EXACTLY the kind of PC gameplay footage I've been wanting to see since waaaaay back. Now I just hope they have some video or something sometime that shows off the DX11 features.

Oh, and I was so excited to see the party walking!!!! :wizard:

There is an option to turn off blood.  I think it's just on/off, I'll check when I go in next if you're curious and follow up with a PM.

Nice, thanks!

If its like Origins, I think that had a toggle for the persistent gore on/off. I've just been spoiled playing with mods where you can change the levels of gore and such so that it doesn't go on the faces. I like the idea of having some blood on the characters after combat, just not having them look like they took a bath in the stuff.=]

I agree with wholeheartedly...though I believe I noticed a toggle for the persistent gore in the one of the other dev previews, that was for the console version though...which I am a console player...so, maybe the pc will get said option as well.

I saw the demo and now I'm SOOO excited! I'm glad I pre-ordered it way back in December.

The toggle suits me fine. There are times when I enjoy, but there are times when it gets old.

Is the 60% off Ultimate edition mentioned in beginning over? I tried putting the code in and it said invalid.

I think that was only during the time the gameplay footage and demo were live earlier.

Yes this has ended.

However there is a 30% off all Dragon Age apparel at the BioWare store offer going on this weekend. Just use the code HAWKE when you order. :)

Nobody mentioned the camera? I thought it was excellent when zoomed out - doesn't seem to be very restrictive at all. Also liked that they seem to have got rid of the party run-stop, run-stop when the pc is walking. That really annoyed me in Origins.

Practice starts in 10 days......

I stopped at the 10 min mark to avoid spoiling. Why did you have to make it release so late?

Having not actually played either DAO or Awakening yet, this is going to be a fun expierence for me. I've seen footage on youtube about both games, and understand the whole story, but that's different than playing it for myself.

I predict a lot of accidental swearing and multiple replays in my future. XD

Reasons why I love Bioware even more today:

-The livestream and Q+A itself, what a great idea and executed brilliantly by Chris and Mike. Just what I want to see marketing wise from a game like DA2.

-You played as Lady Hawke! Thanks for listening to us female protagonist fans, she looks (and sounds!) amazing.

-Varric and his lil leggies.

-Isabela. 'Nuff said.

-In fact Varric and Isabela alone would probably be enough to sell this game to me. Spin off TV show or something please.

-The Archer love! I loved the potential of archery in Origins, and as you said it began to reach that potential in Awakening. Very hopeful now that it'll finally be as satisfying to play with as it should be.

-The loading screens. Yeah a minor point, I just really love what you've done with the loading screens.

-No more silly Mage hats! Or at least not as the primary Mage hat in the game. Yay for hoods! (and toggles)

Seriously, thanks again for this it was awesome.

Looks great.. love almost all of what I have seen and am very excited.. only one thing really isnt working for me and its the speed of the characters in combat.

This super fast run up insta-stop hit with a big jump thing is very reminiscent of japanese games/cartoons and it really grates for me seeing it in the world of ferelden. Guess I was in the minority who thought the speed of characters in DA:O was fine as was.

I watched the video later - I must say I am *very* pleased with FemHawke's voice and it was great to see a feminine cycle of idle animations on her. Also, general running and walking animations are clearly cut for her specifically instead of recycling the male animations. I is pleased. Very pleased. The eye to these details is promising, and it makes me look forward to the game as a whole even more.

I'd really like to thank you guys for using FemHawke for this demo - it's a delight to see both the male and female protagonists in the spotlight (unlike the ME marketing). A sheer contrast for the better. Once again: thanks Mike, Chris, and all others who made this demo possible.
