I liked Allistair's choice of name for his dog during the Darkspawn Chronicles. Maybe i'll do something similar and call it Templrawr.

I use the same name "Dog" keeps it simple

Think I will follow my tradition of naming the dog after a dead character sibling or companion. For example I always named the dog Trian when I played a dwarf noble or Soris when I played a city elf. So for DA2 it looks like my Mabari is going to be named Carver. Might seem bad taste in a way but at least this way I will never forget them after they die a few minutes into the story.

I know Soris doesn't die as a city elf but considering he has to spend almost the full game sitting in a jail while my city elf goes tressure hunting I think he deserves a little recognition.

He doesn't have to go to jail if you take full blame for the massacre.

I'll probably call my hound Dane after "Dane and the Werewolf".I tend to name my hounds after tales from different cultures, like I called my Dalish Elf's hound Fen'Harel and my Human Noble's Hohaku.
