I don't know...in DA O I always just brought along whoever I felt like, but I kind of want to try out a consistent team for II. What's everybody's plan regarding this?

My first Hawke is going to be a mage (male). I'm still debating on how to set his party up - I kind of want to take Fenris along to tank (not sure how that will work out), and since I 'm going to need a rogue (unless it was confirmed everyone can unlock chests?) and I SORT of want to bring along Anders despite being another mage, there would be no room for Aveline (but I am really intrigued by her). Interested in starting a rivalry with my fellow mage

The rogue will likely be either Isabela or Varric.

I dunno, that's the idea I have right now. What about the rest of you? I'm interested to see all of the parties people can come up with.

I think I know how I want my party to be I'm still trying to decide somewhat. Here's what I got so far.



1. Mage Hawke

2. Fenris/Carver/Aveline

3. Merrill LI

4. Isabella

My first hawke will be a rogue, and I definately want to see sibling interaction, so she'll take bethany. Aside from that, I'll need a mage, so Merril..but maaaybe Anders if I like the cut of his jib in this (not that I didn't like him before, I just kind of want to get to know someone new). And I'll need a tank, so Aveling.

For my magehawke, Carver, Varric, and Fenris.

Depends on how difficult Nightmare turns out to be this time around, and whether or not I need to actually build a balanced group. Right now I'm leaning towards:

1. Hawke (mage)

2.Fenris

3.Varric

4.Merrill

• Anders/Merrill (depending on if I can make Merrill into a healer and or I don't like new Anders)
• Isabela (you've gotta love Isabela and I don't like the look of Varric)
• Fenris/Aveline (depending on the quest. Maybe put in Carver to mix things up)

Now for Warrior Hawke:

• Warrior Hawke
• Isabela (see above)
• Merrill (it's Merrill and Warrior Hawke needs his LI with him)
• Anders/Bethany (see above for Anders/Merrill, just change Merrill to Bethany)

The only 100% constant across all my playthroughs will be Anders, since he's probably going to be best set up for healing and I hate having my PC be in charge of it.

I hope not.

Why? Well, you really don't know enough about the party members yet. When I started my first playthrough I was sure I was going to include X in my party (name changed to protect the innocent). However, once I met up with her/him, I found out that he/she was much more of... well... much more of a dick than I was expecting. Since I was playing a "Mr Nice Guy" playthrough, I didn't want to use that character once I got to know them.

However, I was sure to use her/him in my next playthrough where I played as a total snotty bad-ass.

I urge you not to make up your minds till you play. The NPCs the team have made are not as "simple" as they seem. There are very distinct personalities here.

Sounds like you're talking about Merrill. She seems innocent enough, but does blood magic. I hope she's not too annoying.

Isabela (I know I really shouldn't take two rogues, but I always like to take my LI with me)
Fenris (Sounds like a really interesting character)
Anders (I love the idea of his new character)

I'd consider Bethany in there just because it might be interesting to have a sibling in the party.
