My party Rogue will be Sebastian Vael, since he's Muad'Dib. Probably Anders for Mage since I liked him in awakening. I haven't heard anything good about Carver as a character, so the tank will have to be Avelline.

Haven't really decided yet, althrough I'm thinking of going for:

I'm thinking something like:

1. Male Mage Hawke (Healer)

2. Merril (LI and damage Mage since I don't think I can spec her to healer.)

3. Isabella (Complementary Rogue and since I already have 2 long range CHA in my party I don't need more.)

4. Warrior (Constant switching based on mood and current story events.) {BTW I think Chris is talking about Anders}

Don't know. I always play as a magic user (if available) for my first character in crpgs and like I did in Origins, I'll probably end up with mage-centric party again.

I wasn't going to use Isabela at all, but after seeing Mike play the demo, I think I kind of like her. I might even romance her, if Varric isn't an option.

Well, I'm not really leaving anyone out of my party because I don't think I'd like them - on the contrary, I'm actually looking forward to getting to know all of them this time now. I just kind of want a consistent team. Ideally I'll be replaying this game many times, and with each time a different party


I'm curious about who you're talking about. My Hawke isn't going to be very diplomatic or nice, so they'll probably get along swimmingly

I just realised that I was planning on taking Isabela and Varric for smutty banter whilst playing as a rogue myself. I foresee that not working too well and now I'm back to the drawing board. Will probably take Chris's advice and just see what the characters are like when I'm playing.

I have decided my first character will be fair, but a bit of a hard ****. To her: Loyalties are earned not given. Second playthrough will *start* more based on personality preference though, same as what happened in DAO and Awakenings ( i thought for sure I would like Justice and then he just grated on me for some reason ... I still used him but I swore at him a great deal. lol Because of things like that though, I prefer to *try* to wait and see who does it for me as a team.)

Yea that has got me intrigued too. If I had to guess it might be Merrill, Carver, or Aveline.

Merrill- Easy to assume that because she looks cute and innocent on the outside could mean she is a snotty and rude person on the inside, even though I hope not because shes my favorite character so far.

Carver-Little brother who has always lived in your shadow. Now when you become the champion gives him more reason to be a pissed-off and angry character.

Aveline- This one would really surprise me. Shes supposed to have the most honor of all characters. I would be shocked if she were to have a dark past or no tolerance for anyone who has some flaws.

I have no idea. I haven't met the characters yet. However, I plan to play a mage* so I assume I'll have one companion warrior, rogue, and mage. That seems to be the best balance for me.

Not all "ooh look at the pretty flowers!" but at the same time not a complete an utterly b****.

Wow. Now I'm really curius who that guy/gal was. I hope you'll tell us who it was, later. Maybe in the spoilerforum?
If I would guess... its not Merrill, defenitly not Aveline or Bethany.
I know Carver can be a pain but I don't think in that way. Anders/Justice we really don't know how they are right now so maybe but I don't think so. Verric is a really importent character in the game so I wonder if they really would make him in to someone that people playing a good guy would disslike.
That leaves Fenris, Isabela and Sebastian. Isabela seam to have some good sides after seeing the live chat so I'm guessing it's not her but it could be.
We know almost nothing about Fenris and Sebastian. Since Sebastian is a bonus character that lowers the odds so I think it is Fenris. I wonder if I'm right.

Going for a good Mage that has a vendetta against the Chantry so it will be:



Aveline/Carver (Need a tank and depends on whether Aveline is as self-righteous as her Templar husband)

Isabela (LI and my anti-chest with a very large... chest)

Varric/Anders (Need ranged combat and they both provide comic relief. Question is just how far Anders' vendetta stretches. Playing a good guy after all)



My Mage may be a Force Mage or a Spirit Healer depending on whether Varric or Anders tags along.
