Well you're a cheery person aren't you? Have you played the game? I'm guessing no, so my question, again, is how do you know what you know?

At the moment I've got my heart set on:

-Beathany (gotta protect my little sister! and hopefully she's a kick ass mage too)
-Isabella (need a rogue, and she seems pretty cool so far. Not that keen on archer types)
-Merril (I love the Druidy-keeper types, hopefully I can have her as healer)

with myself as Male Hawk Warrior - Tank - as it seems to be best option to fit in with my favourite characters (based only on the previews, but you can't wait to meet them to decide on your class!)

I will probably swap Varric in for Isabella from time to time to give him a shot (no pun intended)
I'm not that keen on Anders for some reason, he seems kinda evil now. I will end up using him if Merril can't be a spirit healer though-.-

However, once I met up with her/him, I found out that he/she was much more of... well... much more of a dick than I was expecting. However, I was sure to use her/him in my next playthrough where I played as a total snotty bad-ass.

I urge you not to make up your minds till you play. The NPCs the team have made are not as "simple" as they seem. There are very distinct personalities here.

im fairly sure that david gaider confirmed fenris not being emo at all ...as for gay dont really see why that matters ...just saying

Nice dude.. You could have just said you didn't like them. You don't have to be such a ****** about it.

I often overplan these things out of boredom.  How many parties should I play to see everything possible so that I...and blah blah blah.  But I can't really bring myself to do it this time.  I mostly just plan to make a mage Male Hawke...because I'm male and like mages.   And from there I'll decide about what characters to play and how often to switch them out based on what happens in game.  

That said, if I had to guess what I'll do, I'll imagine that I'll use Fenris most as a warrior and then flip flop between Merrill, Varric and Isabela for the other two spots.  If not that, maybe I'll rotate pretty evenly with one of these two compositions: 2 Mages, 1 Rogue, 1 Warrior or 1 Warrior, 2 Rogues, 1 Mage.  But that's a guess--not a plan.

Or maybe Carver? Even though he's your brother, the live vid yesterday suggested that he starts on more of a rivalry path with you. Or even Merrill? She might be more unscrupulous than she seems.

I'd really like to have at least one all-male party (Male Mage, Fenris, Sebastian, and Carver) and at least one all-girl party (Female Rogue, Aveline, Merrill, Isabela/Bethany), but I'm going to see how I like the characters first. Plus I know I'm going to have to switch things up depending on party abilities since there probably won't be a respec tome (and I don't mod).

Anders definitely gets a spot alongside my mage though. Even if he turned out to be a giant arse and they became immediate rivals. Hawke can live with hate sexing a possessed guy.

Im not sure yet although im about 75% sure im going to use Isabella and about 90% sure i'll use Avaline on my first playthrough with my male rogue Hawke

First off, I usually play Warriors(I went Sword and Shield in DAO) but I don't know if I'll go the same route this time.

Most likely I will. But I think I'd like to try a Rogue as well.

I'll play a female. Since I'll need a mage, I'll most likely bring little sister Bethany with me.

Isabella is going to be FUN, so she's coming with. There's a rogue.

And lastly, I don't know. Could be anyone else. Most likely Varric or Anders. Could be Sebastian or Merrill. Could be Aveline(although something about her I don't like. Maybe its the Herculean thing. I have no idea).

I guess its still up in the air. But as far as guarantees are concerned, I'd bet I'll be bringing Isabella with me everywhere(as long as I can).
