Hmm I'm not 100% sure yet but so far I like this set up:



Fem!Hawke Warrior (offensive 2h)

Aveline (tank s&s)

Bethany/Isabella (damage)

Merill (buff/controller)

Either Fenris or Bethany



Its hard to decide Fenris looks badass but Id also love to have a sibling.....

I thought I had, but...I think I'll have to wait and see how things go in the game. Overall, these folks seem way more effed up than our companions in origins. It will all be very interesting, but I may need to swap them out just to get a breather. Well, maybe not Varric and Isabela. I may be wrong, but they don't seem like 'issues' types.  I just have a feeling that they'll annoy the b'jaysus out of me. Who knows, though?

I'll definitely be using them all, no doubt about it. But on my first run through, I'm going to guess that I'll be running with Isabela, Bethany, and either Varric, Aveline, or Merrill (lol, so basically ANYONE ELSE...: for the most part - depends on whether I decide to go a 2h warrior or not.

No I don't plan a party yet as I don't really know enough about the Game mechanics (aka who forgiving the game is t various difficulty levels in regards to "non optimized part set-ups and I don't not much about who they are and what makes them tick.



Usually for the first or second play through I end up with a "game mechanic group" and any subsequent play through (when I know the game mechanics and personalities) I tend to gravitate to certain party members.

I gotta say, I'm hoping that someone in the group is just plain likeable and funny. I mean, sure, everyone has issues, but there's a reason Alistair was always in my party. Well, a few of them, but that was a big one.

I'm planning on getting to know the characters first. As much as we've seen from the companions, I don't feel like I "know" them at all yet. That'll take time =) So no, I'm not planning any party at all, permanent or temporary.

I don't care how awesome the characters in DA2 or any subsequent games we're ever gonna get are, no one is ever going to compare to Alistair. No one! =D

I would have liked it better if he was more serioues at the moments he should be.

I'll try out all companions and different setups the first time around, but the one described above is what the group will look like most of the time.

It would be pretty silly to make up your mind at this stage about who will be in your party since we know very little about the characters.

I intend to use them all at some point.

 I haven't done much research regarding party members in DA2 (apart from knowing who they are) but my general make up will be

Me(Flynn) - Damager Mage with a handful of support and debuffs (like paralyze if it's in the game)
Tank similar to what I did with Alistar 
Healing mage similar to what I did with Wynne 
and a ranged rouge 

To me my party is a high risk high reward kinda thing...sending my only warrior to meet them head on while my other party members including myself rain down hell via spells, kinda fun XD

On my other play throughs the warrior tank may be replaced by me (Alexis) and the rouge by Me  (Elise)
But untill Irhe demo I'm not letting anything set in stone for now

Too many characters I want to play with. I'm hoping that I'll be able to switch it up throughout the game but if XP works similar to DA:O where companions that aren't used are always 1 level behind the PC then I may just stay with 1 group

I'll probably do as I always do, rotate the members around to use them all (with the ones I like the most being used somewhat more then the others).

That's what I do. In my next playthrough I switch them up and so on. Keeps the replay value high.
