Male Hawke Warrior(Voice is far better than Fem hawkes)

Aveline(She seems to be my bromance and will probaly be my 2h dmg dealer unless her shield holds signifigance in the story)

Anders(My connection to original game, I will often switch him out with merril unless i hate merril)

Varric(nuff said)

Seeing how anders is the only spirit healer, and I am sure that on nightmare I will need a dedicated healer, It is going ot be me (rogue) the tank lady, anders, and either beth or merril.

Nothing set in stone, obviously, because I may completely change my mind depending on how they end up being in-game...
But for my initial playthrough, I'll probably have a sarcastic sword-n-board Lady Hawke, Varric, Isabela, and Anders. Team Snark, for the win!

But there will be many, many playthroughs and all sorts of party rotations/combos tried out. Because, really, they all sound fascinating and I'm excited to "get to know" them all.

It depends on the actual "character" of the characters.

Im planing to run around with:

1. Merill (healer, probably LI)
2. Aveline or Carver (tank)
3. Isabella (DD, LI if I don't like Merill)

My Male Hawke will be a dd/cc-mage.

I will play a good guy, so perhaps it will lead to a love-hate romance with Isabella, if she really is the kind of ****, she seems to be.

Sebastian (ranged damage)

Whatever Mage is best for healing/squad buffs is the one I'll use most. Might also switch out aveline for DPS/AoE Mage and have fenris tank and rogue hawke go more melee

This way i play with all the classes cicling trough all companions

Female Templar Hawke (& Anders LI - if it is not possible to romance Anders as a Templar I will be something else)
Anders (always, unless at any point the storyline prevents)
Sebastian or Isabela, depending on who I like better after playing OR Carver/Fenris if I am going into a situation where brute force will be more important than rogue abilities
Bethany

Of course I may change my mind after getting to know the characters, the only one set in stone is Anders. At the moment Averline, Varric, and Merrill don't interest me at all.

My first DAO playthrough I took Morrigan, Alistair, and Leliana pretty much everywhere. The second time around I tried to mix it up more to experience the various conversations amongst companions. Even so, for most major combats I defaulted to My Warden as a dual-wield heavy armor tank, secondary two-handed tank, ranged rogue, and mage.



With DA2, I'm not sure what to do. I definitely want to go dual-wielded weapons again, but that means playing as a rogue this time, so probably no damage soaking for my Hawke. I suppose I may keep Isabella around and make her a ranged specialist, use Aveline as my new tank and primary damage focus, and either Anders or Merril as my mage. Of course it will depend on whose personalities I end up liking and wanting to keep around.

I'm horribly undecided. I don't even know if I'll roll a mage or a rogue first.
The companions I am most excited about are Isabela, Anders, Aveline and Varric... but I'm not planning on missing out on the others.
I'm probably just going to completely forsake combat balance and rotate my party roster like there's no tomorrow.

My team's gonna be Aveline, Sebastian and Anders. Might swap Anders or Sebastian for Bethany occasionally.
I suddenly started liking Aveline. And thus, even though I still think that her headband is lame, she's joining my party as a tank.

I was just thinking. Since we know that party members are going to have their own relationships with each other, how awesome would it be if they also developed romances? I would love it if I walk into a bar and there's Bethany smooching with Sebastian or something. You could act like the overprotective big brother, which would add rivalry points...god I hope DA 3 has this.

I think they can flirt with each other, but don't actually romance each other. Still, I think they're supposed to visit each other in their home bases, so maybe you'll be able to do the protective thing if you find one of the guys hitting on Bethany at home
