Whether it started for you in ME1 or ME2, what made you decide to be a little more than friends with one of your shipmates? Personality, Intellegence, Integrity - Or just da bo-tay?  Back in the day in Aught seven, I was a liara fan. She was smart, a curious one... and I like biotics, I can't lie. Anyways, let me know with some comments below.

Ashley got on my nerves, and Liara was the adorably awkward type that i could see shep with.

And i like the color blue

I admit, in my first ME playthrough, it was Liara because she was the more shy and innocent chracter. But in later playthroughs, I found prefered Ashley's romance becasue it has more depth.

In ME2, however, I went after Miranda immediately because she seemed to be more of an equal to my Shepard. They complemented eachother. It just seemed to fit.

Ashley shot Wrex, so i let her die and romanced Liara.

You know how it is on the first playthough, you dont know wtf you are doing and wrex dies due to lack of intimidate/charm.

I just had to sleep with the alien (Liara). Captain Kirk syndrome.

Captain Kirk was one of my childhood heroes, Liara is blue. You do the math. :D

Well when I played the first Mass Effect I found a possible cross-species romance a little weird, so I went with Ash. By the time of my second playthrough after getting to know the game and its characters even better, I went with Liara, I liked her clumsyness.

Exactly. That makes me wonder if anybody has been able to replicate Kirk in the character editor?

Talk about weaving your own story... that's rather Shakespearean.

I just had to sleep with the alien (Liara). Captain Kirk syndrome.

Let's face it, liara's practically a nerd's wet dream: A lonely alien bookworm virgin? What else do I need to add to that...

I dunno. I kinda got attracted by Ashleys facial features (her eyes and lips) and I saw her kinda intresting. Liara was this awkward shy very cute girl that made me think "maybe", but I went with Ashley. Stayed faithful in ME 2 and waiting to continue the romance in ME 3.

P.S. I still did another playthrough with Liara as my LI

This. :)

In a video game it likes to be admired, tickle our ego in the sense that we want, to be center of attention of a pretty girl. It is preferred that it be nice to us. That is why at first I preferred Liara to Ashley, who was a little too independent and too little interested in me for my taste. (actually it's a facade of course)

Only after, by trying, exploring the full, that I realized how much she was much better than Liara, more depth. I love Ashley now.

Miranda is the same, independent, headstrong, able to dispense with Shepard. (which annoyed many players precisely, but it is this kind of behavior that often results in real life, is never easy in a relationship.)

Otherwise, I much prefer what happened in M2 Liara, she finally win that he lacked depth. Similarly for Tali.

Intelligence is a huge turn-on for me. Brainy chicks rock, and brainy chicks with attractive faces are my kryptonite.

Ashley was a contender until it revealed her religious preferences.

So, Liara it was! I didn't actually like her face that much in ME1, but I think it's grown on me through several playthroughs. It was never bad, but I prefer slightly different features.

In ME2 Tali filled the "brainy hawt chick" role well, but as soon as I downloaded LotSB I stuck with Liara for my latest playthrough. I like Liara's evolving independence. Tali'Zorah is indepdendent, but she still doesn't feel completely comfortable with herself quite yet - so while it was very close in ME2, I'm still sticking with Liara. :D

I joined the army for one thing. To make it with a hot alien babe, so I shagged that mad blue chick.

The shame for me is that choice no.1 was not available in M.E. and by accident(!) I ended up with Liara, only to find that choice no.1 became available in M.E.2 and that Liara only wanted me to hack f****ing computers! Do NOT talk to me about choices and consequences in Mass Effect.Bah!!

I choose Ash due to the fact she just felt right with the Shepard I played, but that can be said about any LI, it's how YOU play the game, this is a rpg after all! Image IPB

The realism of the character, I also have a soft spot for attractive women who are also tough. The poetry (very intelligent and romantic) the steady pace of the whole romance, it didn't feel rushed. I too was a military brat growing up, it's also tradition in my family, and I too am very close to my family. So I felt I related to Ash pretty well for a character in a game. I even liked her flaws, they made her a very interesting and well developed character.

While I like the whole squad ME1 and ME2, it had to be Ash for my Shep, becuase thats how I played it and it felt right to me. This is what I love about rpgs though, everyone kinda gets there own unique experience.

ME 1 - Liara - Why would I romance a human in game where I can romance alien? :D
ME 2 - Garrus - He is Garrus. Nuff said.

Those abs.

Jacob has great abs.

In all seriousness, I liked Jacob because he was normal and down to Earth. Not that I don't appreciate Garrus and Thane's romances either (Though Thane's is too depressing for my tastes)

Well when I first saw Liara, I was taken by her beauty and then that voice.

Ali Hillis rocks. Then my FemShep got to know her and the whole Prothean Expert deal and she was done for.
