Ashley put in an elevator with Tali and you have a dialogue in which she expressed hope that racism and prejudice against Quarians because of Geth, one day cease.

It is obvious that those who say that Ashley is racist because they have never made the effort to play with or they are content to have a line of verse that is the result of a simple pragmatic. :)

Now, returning to the subject, I found that Liara was also too easy. (also the reason that pushed me towards it the first time, it's paradoxical, I know xD)

Ashley isn't racist, its just when it comes down to it she serves humanity first. That doesn't mean if other races of the galaxy aren't threatened she won't help, just don't ask her to choose between saving a human colony or a turian colony. She'll hate having to do it but she'll sacrifice the turians to save the human colony. If asked why she'd try and rationalize it away as the turians would do the same thing, save their own colony first.

On the other hand if you are forced between saving a criminal human versus your average joe salarian I think its pretty clear she'd shoot the human, give him a quick death, while you two went to save the more innocent person.

My thoughts at least.

I was attracted to Ash for many reasons. She's strong in her convictions and beliefs, she's smart without being all, "oh, I'm so smart!" She cares about her family and friends more than anything and she is just a strong woman. All of which I like in a girl.

I tried to play ME1 on my pc but it blue screens so I never got to play that one...

In ME2 I honestly have to say I was a bit disappointed by the LIs available to my Shep (male or female), although I think the ones for a male Shep are better but only a little..

There were just not enough possibilities there to keep my interest for very long... I finally got around to hooking up with Tali, Miranda at first irritated me quite a bit, then after playing through I understood her a liked her a lot.. Lol, I seriously wanted Samara and was really let down when realizing that she was out of reach, although in keeping with her character it makes perfect sense....

I think for me Jack is the one, however she is a PITA to hook up with.. she is somewhat pathetic right from the start, but after her character develops more fully it all starts to make sense.. she is one I just want to take into my arms and cuddle for hours and tell her it's going to be alright.. I don't think you'd ever catch her in a dress though... lol

Liara. I wanted to see how far the game would allow me to go with a girl that despite looking like a grown up woman, was still considered a 'mere child' in her own society.

Turned out the game allowed me to go all the way.

Honestly in ME1 I really liked Tali alot, so was super excited to romance her in 2. I dunno what it is about her...my friends maintain its the accent as I have a thing for women with accents so. Either way I think it has alot to do with she is very smart, but always seems to be the damsel in distress that Shepard shows up to save in the nick of time.

I also romanced everyone romanceable just for different save files going into 3. Miranda I like as someone said earlier her confidence in herself, she is a capable woman...I find I bring her along on most missions anyways so no big deal on that but I did enjoy this romance.

Jack...I really don't like the "im a hard ass but need to be converted into a soft girl." I usually just casually bang her, and do the loyalty mission. I know she doesn't stay all soft, but I would have preferred she hang onto what she starts as or even having a relationship wit her just be like from her end like "Well we gonna die so if I got bang someone on this ship might as well be you." Then maybe develop the softer stuff for her in 3...I would have liked that a lot more.

Kelly is way too easy from the moment you compliment her she has this look on her face like she wants to just start humping your leg...she is by far the worst romance and hate talking to her.

Samara/Morinth...I really liked Morinth...and I so did take on her space aids...and Shepard wasn't really as invincible as I thought...made me sad. Samara is cool but in that way like Wynne is cool.

Ash...I liked Ash a lot I have problems with the way armor looks on her, and I hate the pink it takes away from the "I'm a soldier first." mentality that she seems to sport. I still like the Hanhe Kadar Scorpion armor on her

Liara...Captain Kirk moment ME1 totally...ME2 I thought the LOTSB really brought some hell yea' to that relationship...I'm glad we got that dlc cause it was magical. I would hope we get some dlc for Kaiden/Ashley next as i'd like little more then a "Hey There" email from Ash, and thats it.

Original Tali fan here, but this is how it went-

Ash- First. I loved her character. I thought she was awesome as hell. I honestly cared about her and found nothing negative about her(but I did change her opinion about how to treat aliens based on a pre-existing opinion of how they'd treat us).

Tali- Back in ME1, at first I thought Tali was awesome. I then realized that I wanted to romance her but realized she wasn't an option. Huge bummer cause I thought she was amazing and I honestly wanted to give her a shot. So I pushed for it on the forums, got the support of what felt like friggen everybody, and YAY FOR ME2.

Miranda- ME2 time now. Thought she was beautiful and needed help. She's behind Ash and Tali as far as I'm concerned, but I still care about her tremendously.

Others-

Liara- Originally found her clingy and annoying. Later on grew to love her, but more as a friend and not as a lover. Ironically though, she was the very first romance option that I had in my first playthrough. I accidentally romanced her instead of Ash.

Jack- NO.

Kelly- Awesome, but of course, its a fling. Still though- Awesome. Love her to death.

In ME1 I went with Liara because she was shy, innocent and very intelligent and she was a lovely shade of blue. In ME2 I hooked up with Miranda because she's also smart, independent, ambitious, that and she has wonderful physical... ass-ets.

ME1: I went after Kaidan because he was strong and independent and actually had a good reason to be there. The "slip up" at the Citadel confirmed he wasn't dead from being in the Alliance for so long and additionally, being a biotic human I felt he could understand my Shep like no alien could.

ME2: I stuck with Kaidan. The Horizon scene was awful but then, I don't blame him for it. I was pretty ticked off to be forced into working with Cerberus as it was. And anyways, love isn't all roses and perfume. There will always be the dumbest arguments you'll fight over. Just remember, make-up sex is worth fighting for! lol.

in mass effect 1, with one of my playthroughs.. i avoided romantic stuff, didn't romance anyone, and later using that playtrough profile in mass effect 2, it made as if i romanced liara (i totally selected no)..
liara+my shepard in mass effect 1 weren't a item (no LI) as mass effect 2 thinks/says.

Ashley was pretentious, self righteous ****. Liara wasn't.

You don't like that?

Liara was always one of those "innocent, sexy looking cheerleader girl with no real personality" tropes that I hate, at least in ME1. ME2 fixed that, or atleast in LoTSB.

I made no positive case for either, I simply picked Liara cause she wasn't Ashley.

Well, I felt ME1 had very vanilla love interests whose romances all began with the other party expressing interest in you first. The relationships felt like they happened on their own regardless of my interest or participation, and I don't find that very stimulating or interactive.

Miranda isn't interested in you at first and expresses open dislike. That interested me. I felt like there was actually something there to be achieved. Achieving it wasn't as hard as I would have liked, but oh well.

In ME1 I romanced Ashley. It wasn't that I was attracted to Ashely and it wasn't like I thought she was a better character than Liara ( truth be told she does come across as a racist zealot in the early part of the game untill you get to know her better ). I eventually became quite fond of Ashley the more I talked to her and got to know her, she is ( or was before Horizon ) a very well done charcter.

At the end of the day I had a very strong dislike to Liara, she came on too strong and it felt like the game was forcing her on me, I also did not like Liara's physical appearance ( not that Ashley was hot either ). It's a very wierd sea craeture phobia that I have, I am very alergic to all sea food and the fact that Asari have sqid like tentacles on thier heads freaked me out. Back in ME1 I assumed I hated all Asari but now that I have played ME2 I now realise that is not true since I like Samara and Aria concider them to be amongst my favorite ME charcters ever as well as quite attractive. I think Liara's problem is that she is alien and yet she is not alien enough ( pale shade of blue, eye brows, freckles, her round face. In contrast Aria has a dark blue compextion and nmore angular features, she also dresses better ).

ME1- Liara...had to, it's a Space RPG with lots of Aliens!
ME2- Tali, just because she's Tali...but it didn't last.

Mass Effect 1: Ashley all the way. I instantly grew to like her because she was an attractive tough woman who actually felt real. Like she joked around, she had a nasty side to her as well as a positive side and she had this actual spark that made her dialogue feel real. She talks about family and personal philosophy rather than what it's like to be part of an alien race so she was far more relatable and well... she just had a lot of personality to offer. Moreso then Liara in any case, at least from where I stood.

Ashley was a strong and well written person with a real spark of personality that made romancing her feel natural and fun, perhaps it's because even though there were plenty of cheesy lines to be delivered she at least demonstrated an awareness for the cheesiness.

Mass Effect 2: I stuck with Ashley in my first two 'canon' playthroughs. No one else even compared, my Shepard's heart was still firmly in the pocket of the now Operations Chief Williams. Regardless of how crap Horizon was, it didn't make him lose hope for the relationship. It just made him more determined to win her heart back!!

*epic hero pose*

As a side note though, I did on my third playthrough... romance someone else. Someone who I was surprised as hell to develop a real connection to even though I was certain I would hate her. Someone who certainly doesn't get enough love among the fanbase. I refer of course to the lovely Jaquline Naught... Jack.

I remember seeing her romance scene on youtube and just being moved. It was beautiful to see someone who had suffered as much as her finally achieve true happiness. After that, the interest built up and finally I decided to actually officially romance her.

It might not be 'canon' but Jack is still my silver medal and frankly, I like her a lot. Can't explain exactly what it is about her, but I took a real shine to this one.

So yeah, Ash all the way save for one detour via Jack.
