My first mod, Sheep and Stone is undergoing an overhaul while The Last days of the Raven is in playtest.

I intend to add new content and tidy it up. There will be new subquests and areas and a new ending.

I am doing this partly because the mod was never what I wanted it to be and because some of the comments I have had have brought a few new ideas.

V5 will be the last stand alone version. I am saving some content back so that the campaign version of the mod has some replay value.

I will update here to (I hope) generate interest. If the timeing goes as planned then a small update of The Caravan Club is next and that will be followed by the release of TLDotR.

We shall see. The best laid plans ...

Good luck! Again, nice screenshot. Perhaps you could add in some dwarf-tossing contests. That would generate interest for me.

Nice, I already told you via PM, but I'll play it when it's out, along with the sequels. It's rare to see a module update that adds new quests and stuff. I hope it doesn't take too long.

Great
I liked it and I'm pleased to see that it is still alive.
Thanks for your work.

All the new content is in and I have tested it once. I need to add kaedrins and test again then it's up on the vault, perhaps on Monday.

What's new?

  • Four areas have been rebuilt increasing scope for a little exploring in one case.
  • Some areas have been rescripted and content added.
  • There is more going on in town and, I hope a greater feeling of oppression in the citizens.
  • There are five new areas.
  • Two new subquests and several new mini plot points.
  • Some of the easier combats have been toughened up a bit.
  • There is a whole new ending, though I cannot mess with the plot itself at this stage.
  • More chances to score experience and treasure through explortaion and use of skills.
  • There is about half to three quarters of an hour of extra play in there. I hope it will provide a fresh play experience for people who may want to play it again prior to The Last Days of the Raven.

Hey, that's alot of stuff. Looks like it will be fun. Maybe I'll try out my rogue/cleric/bard/commoner build on it!

After a great deal of self created confusion Sheep and Stone V5 is up on the vault.

I have also done a minor update to Caravan club and this will be unpdated in the next week. This is just so the new Lakeside area is carried through both mods.

So I leave you with one final screenie. This is Dragon Scar, an area which is new to Sheep and Stone and will now be in all of the mods in one form or another.

That's one good thing about keeping things in the same area, you can revisit them and people get a sense of growth and passage of time they don't in a straight line march somewhere.

I agree Kamal_ If an area can develop with a story that helps to imerse the player. It does not hurt that it cuts down on building time but, in reality, the scripting takes a whole heap of time so I don't thing much is gained in that sense.

Areas that you return to regularly can develop their own personalities. Like the village from Caravan Club/Sheep and Stone.
