Be advised that there were confusing choices suggested in the Official Game Requirements:

Windows XP Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows XP with SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1 GB or more
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (this is clearly wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce "6600 GT" 128MB or greater (and this one is more wrong)

(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO, same thing, almost) for medium or better textures)

INTEL'S GARBAGE (Graphics Chip) IS NOT SUPPORTED

Windows Vista/Windows 7 Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows Vista with SP1, Windows 7
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1.5 GB or more
Video: ATI Radeon "X1550" 256MB or greater (this is OBVIOUSLY wrong)
(*VERY* stupid here, -- should be the X1650 XT, since the 1550 is only a renamed X1300)

NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT 256MB or greater
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space

There is a message thread with the subject "Can Your PC run this game" right here in this forum that you can verify component lists with.  Please do not waste your time, or our forum's spaces referring to the SR Labs "Can You Run It" foolishness.  If you think that your system is up to the task, and yet it's failing, you need to read and follow the directions in Raen Imrahl's post, pinned on top of the forum ("Read First")

Someone else just came in here to complain that DAO crashes with an Intel onboard Chipset video chip. There is a perfectly legible warning label on the game's box.

No useful information included in a question means "no useful answers".

The last weekend before DA2. Does that mean no one will be having trouble in DAO today? I wonder.

Things have slowed down all across the forums with the exception of those dedicated to DA2, and yet there still was a request to find out about how well (badly) a PC with an Intel Chipset video chip runs this game.

It should be noted that the Radeon X1550 was a bad suggestion for minimum right from the start, being only a business card refresh of the X1300 Vanilla card from the year before (it was released along with the HD 2n00 cards when the HD 2400 couldn't be sold for less than $40 or so).

If you two (you know who you are) believe you really do meet the minimum for the game, you still must complete a normal problem report.

P. S.  They aren't the only ones, of course, and the rest of you asking the questions now, need to be sure which group you belong to.  Most likely, you are among those that a proper report is needed from.

Almost everything anyone needs to know is already included in the forum stickies, and after two and a half years, everything possible that could go wrong has done so, and has been discussed in the archives. Meanwhile, there is almost no one here to read your questions.

If you don't want to follow the guide, you must not want an answer particularly seriously.

Today, take note: this was originally a self-help Gamer to Gamer forum.  EA has never had a conduit from here, and Bioware only visited for particular purposes, which most recently ended with the release of the 1.05 patch.

Official help is on EA's site, linked from the bottom of each page, if you scroll down.  It's now called Bioware Game Support, however.
