Think you could be just a little more over the top on that? That's obviously not what he's saying, agree or not, but hey, why actually discuss when you can just belittle and dismiss, eh?[/quote]

Appologies, but  i find it extremely irritating when someone equates a larger chest and a different outfit than expected to be overly sexualized for no reason. Especially to the detriment of all other gameplay.

Oh your right. There must be some legitimate reason why Miranda wears pants that penetrate her ass crack and Subject Zero wears tatoos instead of clothing.... yeah... uh huh .... It can't be to entice those horny players because after all it makes so much sense why they'd be wearing that!

Different team, differnet devs.

You'll notice Shepard can't be gay, either. They have a different set of goals to meet, and I don't see sexploitation as one of them.

OK sorry guys. I had to go to sleep and couldn't keep up with this topic for a while.

There are several things I just want to point out:

I am NOT some prude/anti-sex/girls-have-cooties type of guy. In case you didn't learn it at some point in your life, there's something called "SUBTLETY". There's having a beautiful woman who is proud of her body and likes to show a little cleavage and maybe some tight clothing and than there's just all out breasts threatening to fall out of shirts and skirts that cover the legal bare minimum.

Also, what does that say about Isahella's character? And this whole "Oh, she wears that because it fits with her character" is SUCH B.S.!!! Stop Using it! You and I both know BW dressed up Isabella like that to sell a few more extra copies to those horny losers that "ooo! big boobies!" would appeal to.

Think about it for one damn second. You're really gonna dress up like that when your day to day life takes you in to such dangerous places? Does Isabella really want to walk around like that so she can arouse every single man in viewing distance? You know how much of an inconvenience that would be? Don't you think if that actually happened in the medieval times, a woman would'nt be able to walk past any village without having to fight off several rape attempts and other attempts by men trying to take advantage of her?

Or maybe you guys don't care because you'd rather see a woman with "ooo! Big boobies! Soo hott!!" rather than have a character who has a little bit more self respect than that.

Its a game and its ONE character.

Go outside for a while and relax.

pretty sure this guy wont relax until every girl is covered in a burka.

Ok so I see I'm in the minority here. But is it so awful to expect developes not to fall prey to sexualization in their attempt to reach for aunthenticity?

I have this same problem with Female TV characters. It frustrates me to no end to see female actors, no matter how poor or homeless the character their playing is, have 100$ haircuts and make-up. Because even hobos have acess to make-up rooms.... <_<

Everything must be so horrible for you, I'd suggest an amish community, they seem to roll with what you're asking for.

So, it shouldnt matter that it matches her personality and career style. It should ignore both of that just to appease those who thing sexuality in a game is something to be outraged over?

The problem is that, why a horny teenager has to spend money for see a pair of boobs in a game while he can go on internet free?

I agree with the people saying "calm down", and "chill".

It's not like OMGBOOBZ is going to really affect how many people buy the game... so why would Bioware decide to use that as some sort of appealing marketing thing? Isabela wears what she wears because it's the kind of CHARACTER she is, a confident, proud woman who likes to show off what she's been born with. It Bioware had stuck all the woman in fur bikinis, with DD OMGBOOBZ, then I'd be a bit suspicious of Bioware's portrayal of women. But as it is... No. Just no.

My god, I want to feel like I'm immersed in a realistic, believable world. Not stuck in some horny 14 year old's imagination.

Right, because as we all know, every woman in the world wears baggy sweat pants and cardigans. All the time.

No woman has ever worn a low-cut top, revealing come cleavage. Stuff like that just doesn't happen in the real world.

**** you guys. I'm sorry that I don't want developers to treat me as a horny 14 year old. I'm sorry that I want to experience video games where I can immerse myself in a believable world. I'm sorry I get upset when I see developers thinking its OK to have their female lead characters so overly sexualized that they don't see it as a problem to have them fighting in zero gravity space with high heels and cleavage.

So again. **** you guys and let this topic die. I couldn't care less to argue with a bunch of immature losers who would probably be dressing up like this if they themselves were women and not see it as an issue. I hope your happy when your daughter gets pregnant at age sixteen.

The OP is right, yes, Bioware did do this for Marketing reasons!

The only thing I cannot comprehend is...What the HELL is wrong with that? I see no reason to even moan about it. I am glad if Bioware can get horny losers to buy their games that means more games for us! If this is in anyway breaking your immersion of the game remember it's a fantasy game!

So big breasts, that can be found in any porn start in real life is not 'realism'. But a Gigantic man with horns who looks like he injects himself with 100mm of Steroids every hour is breaking your 'realism'. Damn it man! Get a grip, your making mountains over molehills. Next someone is going to shout 'Think about the children?!' and it all goes to hell from there.

Character. Not characters.

You make it sound like they're making every single female character wear revealing outfits.

It's only Isabella. And it's not "just because we can luls" - it's because that's the kind of person Isabella (read: that one person) is.

..son, I am dissappoint.

Ah, the delicious irony. I can almost touch it.

My 'arguments' have been countered, so I'm going to storm out like a 13 year old who can't go to a party and leave with an insult to boot.

Bravo Sir. You should be a comedian.

Ok, I probably shouldn't justify the following post by responding to it,  and   I suspect that  later, when I'm in a better mood, I'm going to look back at and cringe in regret...

  But:

A_y0ner_ wrote...

OK sorry guys. I had to go to sleep and couldn't keep up with this topic for a while.

There are several things I just want to point out:

I am NOT some prude/anti-sex/girls-have-cooties type of guy.

The opinions, and in fact, every single one of your posts on this thread scream otherwise, but lets see what you've got.

You must be talking about someone other than Isabela.  Her boots go up to her thighs, thus she's not really showing much leg.  And  her top shows cleavage.  But not as much cleavage as, say, a Bikini.   So where's that put your stance  on the Prude meter?

Also, what does that say about Isahella's character?

Oh, what a wonderful play on Isabela's name!  Impressive, and with a slight religious bent to it too.

Hell.  A place where evil dwells.  a place where biblical  seductresses go after they tempt the pious man!

And this whole "Oh, she wears that because it fits with her character" is SUCH B.S.!!! Stop Using it! You and I both know BW dressed up Isabella like that to sell a few more extra copies to those horny losers that "ooo! big boobies!" would appeal to.

What?  Oh yeah.... the chicken-egg argument.  What makes you think DA2 came before Isabella?  It didn't.  Isabela is the same sexually charged personality that she was in the first game (Where she appeared practically unpromoted).  Bioware simply decided to have her  dress more  accordingly for her  return.

Think about it for one damn second. You're really gonna dress up like that when your day to day life takes you in to such dangerous places?

She's a ROGUE.  That's what they do.    Dressing lightly is for BOTH, utility purposes  (combat agility) and espionage purposes (to tear secrets   from powerful people)

Does Isabella really want to walk around like that so she can arouse every single man in viewing distance? You know how much of an inconvenience that would be?

None at all.   Most Aroused men typically  don't have KILLING on their mind, and the ones that do will  discover the other half of Isabela's wardrobe:  her sharp weapons.... as clearly demonstrated in the video  that has offended you so much.

.

Don't you think if that actually happened in the medieval times, a woman would'nt be able to walk past any village without having to fight off several rape attempts and other attempts by men trying to take advantage of her?

Which is why Bioware didn't make Isabela helpless.

Or maybe you guys don't care because you'd rather see a woman with "ooo! Big boobies! Soo hott!!" rather than have a character who has a little bit more self respect than that.

Just... stop.  We all know   the holier-than-thou  tripe when someone preaches it to us.

Me though, I want to know how  you've managed to   reach the conclusions you have  regarding Isabela's self respect, after just seeing a few screenshots and videos.    I also question the maturity level of anyone who judges a person  on absolutely NOTHING but what they're wearing.  Kinda shallow to do such a thing, wouldn't you say?  Then again,  shallowness is a prerequisite  to prudishness.

She is a very confident/strong pirate who will use anything and everything to get the upperhand in a battle
And using her body to distract men in battle is a great way to do just that

Dont complain if you dont have a good reason or a constructive way to improve the clothing.

How desperate of a man do you have to be to get distracted sexually during a battle?? :?

It is an overused fallacy.  Flashing some skin might be an effective distraction to gain a first strike advantage, but regardless of how attractive a female might be or what part of her anatomy is exposed, it would not distract a man when he knows his life is at stake.

Ironic to say others are 14 yo losers when you talk and act like one. Instead of admiting your point of view is perhaps exagerated, you resorted to insults, so you're not only acting like a kid, but you're acting like a brat.

This man thinks maturity comes from tolerating sex? This man is a 13 year old boy who loves to masturbate over porn all day, but then makes comments like these to show how mature he is. And then goes of in a rage because he cannot argue with our opinions, however 'short' or 'stupid' they may be.

You know how I know? Because I've done it before, and if you are a man, because God knows who the hell you really are. I believe it is immature to blow of your anger like this? If you are to start an arguement you are to give your opinion and then show the good and the bad.

So as the post above me says 'bye'. And don't worry, we all learn from our mistakes :kissing:

why is my own post qouted?

Actually, Dragon age avert this one.

Now, I seen some really stupid women wear nothing but a breastplate and a thong, be thankful that didn't happen.
