Why not wear what everyone else does? pants.

The only pants that would be good for Backflips would be Tight leather pants,
And people would scream OMG BLACK MIRANDA.

Isabella is a seductress and her outfit reflects her character as do Fenris and merril's lack of shoes due to their elveishnes and Varrics over coat and chest hair due to his street smarts.

So, if you make a rogue Hawke, is he or she going to go pantless?

You'll have that option, won't you?

What's your point?

Not sure I have one, at this point.  Is there really a point to everyone saying how much ease of movement her outfit gives her?

I'm just pointing out that if the lack of pants is good for backflips and all, every rogue in the game should go pantless.

I suppose someone could mod a kilt for MaleHawke, though.

Oh, and -- overcoat and chest hair = streetsmarts?  Posted Image  nah, let's forget this one . . . .

In DA, yes.
He looks shady. And is a shady character.

Chest hair looks shady?  Or is it the overcoat that looks shady?  Or just men with chest hair wearing an overcoat?

I know of at least one person on this forum that would disagree with this.

I'd also like to say to this

Maybe Isabella prefers skirts? There are plenty of women who wear skirts IRL and im sure a few prefer it to pants.

Chest hair looks shady?  Or is it the overcoat that looks shady?  Or just men with chest hair wearing an overcoat?

*facepalm* your completley missing the point

Varric is made to look shady overall due to the fact he is a shady character. Isabella is made to look sexy due to the fact she is a heavily Sexual character.

I completely agree.  In fact, I think every character should go pantless.  Well, except for male characters,  Because that would be disgusting

The... mechanics of men going without pants is just far too dangerous.

Not to mention the lag the animations would cause.

Aaaaand now I think this thread should probably be locked soon.

I'll tell you why. Throughout history the female body has been looked at as beautiful. It is in more art than any other form. The reason for this is the female body is natures greatest creation of art. Yes, the male body as well, but even more so the female body. If looking at a beautiful woman makes you that uncomfortable then I'd say you have some issues. Instead of complaining about why women are "over sexualized" you should look at it from an artistic stand point. What exactly is beautiful and artistic about a 500 lb woman haggard and unkempt? I do not say that to be shallow, I say it for a simple fact. Artists create things that are attractive to the eye, that is part of the purpose of art. Something that attracts us and draws us in. Exactly how successful do you think a game with middle aged, over weight, butter faced house wives would be? It would be a bomb because it is simply not attractive, on many scales. Video Games, after all, are art.

On another standpoint. I am an Artist and developing Photographer. My favorite medium is black and white photo with the female form. I think their is nothing more artistic and beautiful than the female body. The lines, the waves, the flow, the pale skin. You just have to look with different eyes than the media and society mindwashes people with.

You obviously haven't seen art in the 1800s.  Women were round and curvy and non were the 100lb women we see in movies, etc.  For instance: http://en.wikipedia....urkish_Bath.jpg and there are many more.  Your opinion of art may not be other's opinion of art.

Actually I have that painting and many gigabites of other art from those eras. I know my art. Women were indeed more curvy then, or rather painted so, and if you had read my post properly you would have noticed I said "The lines, the waves, the flow, the pale skin". That involves curves. Yes, my opinion of Art is not the same as everyone else, it varies based on the individual, but I think most people would agree that we want to see something attractive to our eyes in our art. In our games. And, many people find thinner women more attractive than not. Many people enact their fantasy out when they create art as well.

I really don't mind Isabella's skimpy outfit. She's provocative and cocky. It makes sense, and as long as it makes sense for the character to wear "sexy" clothes, I have no problem with it.

(It does not, however, make sense to wear armor that doesn't protect your chest, stomach and thighs (DAO), but that's a small detail. It's a fantasy game after all.)

What I have a problem with is people going "wtf fem hawke needs bigger ******!!!" Really?

Oh. what the hell, I'll just throw my opinion regarding Isabela into this mess.

1) If you call it a "tunic dress", it's anachronistic (yes, even for a fictional universe for reasons I don't feel like getting into). If you call it a "tunic", you should show both sexes wear it.

2) I have nothing against big breasts per se, but hers aren't just big, they're fantasy-silicon-infused balloons that threaten to jump out of her view window every other step she takes, not to mention during the silly rogue choreography.

3) Her giant boots stopping just under whatever we want to call her piece of cloth leaves only her arms, her bosom and her "pleasure zone" uncovered. Again nothing against people comfortable with their own sexuality, but putting a big bull's eye on your vagina doesn't feel realistic for anyone but hookers and the wet dreams of immature heterosexual males.

Not to mention that apparently all human women are extremely busty, many of them (including your freakin' in-game sister) showing it off as if the game were one big Oktoberfest.

As an immature queer woman, I am deeply offended.

Though truth be told, I didn't notice Isabela's lady bits on parade, I was too busy drooling over her voice.

Every time I see you post, I think your name is "twincest." How's that for oversexualization? :P

If we do get a cross-dressing character in this or any other game then Eddie Izzard is a must for the VO.

I've been using this name for about twelve years, have been aware of the other word for about nine and have occasionally been called out on the similarity for about three, so it's facepalm-inducing, but I'm used to it by now.

I for one loved Isabela's dresscode. Its what I'd expect from an overly flirtatious adventurous sexy pirate queen who probably enjoys being the... er... dominant partner... captain of the "ship". yep.

As for her breast size? I'm a little offended by people who say it is too big. To be frank, I'm pretty sensitive about a lot of opinions floating around about how she's too fat for a rogue, too heavy breasted, and looks skanky. I'm in roller derby, and Isabela's the closest Videogame character I've seen who fits my body type. Yes, I've got a similar chest size. No, I'm not fat, I'm freaking muscular as all hell and can zip around a rink in circles despite that size. I need to be that size so I can knock people off their feet. And yes, I wear "skanky" clothes because its easy to maneuver and much more fun to distract the opposite team.

All in all? Isabela is not overly sexualized. She's just fine sexualized in my book.

If she had the EXACT SAME OUTFIT only with the addition of tight leather pants, I doubt very much people would shriek she's Miranda 2.0 unless the camera work insisted on shoving her butt in our face every time we spoke to her like they did with Miranda.

That is seriously the only change visually that I long for. The backbreaking rack, the ridiculous jewelry, the boots she would break an ankle in, I could accept it all if she just had some pants.

Well, more power to you, by all means, and I agree that much criticism is phrased in questionable terms, but again, the problem, at least for me, isn't her having huge breasts, but her and every other human woman having giant, balloon-formed breasts on slim-to-average bodies and hers and Bethany's threatening to pop out any moment, which even ignoring protection is at least for Isabela by no means practical. And I won't believe you use stockings-sized leather boots to highlight a lack of pants until you show me visual proof.
