Ick. I wish it were more authoritative. I loved playing in-charge Commander Jane Shepard. I don't want to play a lilting, passive flower.

I hope it grows on me.

I have a feeling that the female Haweke voice will be more emotive than the male one.

I do agree. I had expected something authorative, given that Hawke is supposed to be a "general."

I think she sounds like Kasumi.

I dont know if that VA was in DA:O too, but i really think they sound much alike.

Well I personally dislike FShep's voice because it wasn't sensitive and elegant enough for the character I wanted.

SO I GUESS I GET IT LUCKY THIS TIME. HAR HAR DE HAR NYEH NYEH

Also, passive flower? Just because she speaks like that... oh em gee... <_<

I love her look and her voice almost as much as I love you.

And you know how much I love you.

I'm sorry, but I don't like the voice from what I've heard...
At first I thought it was too feminine and then realised that wasn't it at all. Feminine isn't bad and comes in many varieties
It sounds too high class.
The character of Hawke doesn't seem like it should be posh at all, but all I can picture when she says 'maybe he needs a new hobby' is a lady sipping champagne while stroking a fluffy white cat and hoping not to damage her nails. Like the new hobby she would suggest would be playing the grand piano

in fact I think the way that one line is delivered represents exactly what I don't like about it, the very first line; not so bad, but it goes down hill from there for me, the Hobby line is making me cringe every time I hear it now. Nasal, posh, the line before is really breathy... not what I imagined my bad-ass Hawke sounding like.
So I can't play an elf and if I want to play my own gender I sound like a limp wristed posh lady? Oh Dragon Age 2.. you make so disappoint.
My last hope is for Fenris to be a bisexual LI, but I fear once again I will be disappointed :(

At least some people are happy with it... *goes to sulk in a corner*

The moment, I heard the voice I really liked it. I love Hale, but yes, Hawke should not sound like Shep. That would be totally wrong.

But then, after listening to it again, it struck me. Is this Anora? Annoying Anora, the one char in DA, I hated even more than Loghain? Please, tell me it is not so!

I would still play Lady Hawke, but adjusting will be very difficult.

Personally I love her voice.

Yes, its softer than expected, but then its a nice change from playing the typical brute female voices usually cast in such roles. From what I understand, later in the game you effectively become a ruler anyway. So sounding like an aristocrat will make sense.

As with others, I recognise the voice. She reminds me of the Sith Inquisitor female from TOR. But I don't know the name...

Did you just imply femShep sounds like a brute... *puts up fists* I will fight you!

But on a serious note I hope this doesn't become a whose femininity-is-mighter fight between Shep and Hawke, ugh, cultural gender standards how I loathe thee....

I think the way she said first line was absolutely perfect. Overall I rather like her voice, but I can't help but cringe a little when she says "Maybe he needs a new hobby". It's just that it sounds really inconsistent compared to the other lines even if she was being sarcastic. I just hope all the other sarcastic choices don't sound exactly like that.

It doesn't have to be cultural gender standards, youknow. It could just be an opinion.

I love it. I Totally do. Listening to this clip, with Isabella and Hawke and... Lucky, I just had an expression of awe on my face. I'm fairly certain this game is going to be an aural delight. Yeah, they could have had a Jen Hale-like voice do this, and I *love* Jen Hale, but this is just so striking, surprising, and full of character and uniqueness.

In terms of her not sounding authoritative enough, we only saw sarcastic/paragon responses, and this is an excerpt from early in the game. Are we discounting character evolution? Hawke is not immutable, she becomes a champion, and I bet we see this reflected in her voice or tone. Fan-tastic.

Well english accent. It will just never sound anywhere near 'cool'. I'll get used to it I guess but I would have prefered Jennifer Hale. I know people say she doesn't have to voice everything, but well, in that case it would have been better imo. Or to have femHawke talk in american accent al least.
