I do like her voice, but I think I like Beardy Hawke's voice better. They're both good!

Honestly...you can flay me for saying it....but Lady Hawke sounds like a school girl who should be on a playground playing hopscotch. Given her default face and her position as a "pwns everything" Champion. I expected a voice that sounded a whole lot more athoritive. She sounds far too girly and innocent imo. But I also understand Lady Hawke is designed for female gamers and they want a delicate flower whos strong on the inside...I guess I'll just be sticking to the male character more than useual is all. Because I just can't take Lady Hawke seriously with those feminine idle motions and that schoolgirl voice.

Women can be feminine and strong at the same time.
I'm a guy and I'm going Femhawke first and the voice sold me on it.

Because strength and ability correspond directly to the amount of baritone someone speaks with. :pinched:  There are plenty of "girlish" women who can kick major butt.  How does voice correspond to action?

And I'd like to point out that he did not pick the authoritative lines in the demo.  I get that people can't seem to take a woman seriously in an action oriented role, because binary thinking corrupts often common sense, but seriously, don't be like this.

That said, I love her voice, and I look forward to rolling a femHawke!

It doesn't correlate, in real life.
But in stories, there are certain expectations.  Like that girly girls aren't portrayed as physically tough, Action hero protagonists are portrayed as buff, nerds are skinny and socially awkward.

Maybe we should break out of those stupid expectations.

This.

Also, what a person's voice says about them is immensely, if not entirely, subjective. Consider the wide array of opinions on the Shepard voices.

For instance, Shepard's male voice tends to make me wish him harm, and makes Sheploo's appearance even more obnoxious to me, whilst Hawke's male voice makes me feel a lot better about his appearance.

lol be honest your not even gonna play the game.  I've had this feeling that you've been hating on the game from the get go.

It's not just the voice ppl are hating on now. Now some folks are riled up that their femHawke is going to be-goodness gracious-feminine! With feminine idle motions to boot! And so enter the "we-want-our femhawke-butch/masculine" crowd. Personally, I am thrilled at the prospect of playing femhawke, who unlike femShepard, has her own female rig.

Well for me if I didn't want feminine I'd play male.  Being a man myself I find it all very attractive and cant help but play female lol.

Personally I was hoping for Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (voice of Major Kusanagi of GitS) but this is good too

I love Hale but I am glad it's not her. Oversaturation is not a good thing. She's already female Shepard, why should she be female Hawke as well?

Why not?

Jennifer Hale can do wide range of voice acting, not to mention she is probably one of the best VA.

It not rare for the same VA to voice major character in two different Bioware games(i.e.Raphael Sbarge.)

Why not use her when she is doing it so well?

That said, I am okay with LadyHawke's voice, just disappoint because its not Jennifer Hale.

Having multiple protagonists sound like the same person could indeed get quite boring especially when these games are launched in relatively short time.

Why compare ME1+2 to DA2 voices?

I know it's inevitable and somewhat hypocritical, but... WHATEVER. It's so stupid.

This. I agree. There simply aren't enough popular leading ladies, videogames, TV shows, movies or otherwise that portray feminine, strong characters.

They are always tomboyish, masculine, deep voiced, and exude stereotypes of power (which are almost always male). It is a nice change.

For me, there's just something inherently badass about a woman being able to kill everything in sight (so to speak).

That being said, my first playthrough is going to be with FemHawke, Bethany, and Isabela. :)
