FemHawke sounds (to me anyway), like Keeley Hawes. The RP accent is one to mask most things that make a vocie stand out, but there's something about FemHawke that reminds me too much of Lara Croft in Underworld, who was, of course, voiced by the wonderful Ms Hawes...  A short clip of TRU for those interested in voice comparison:

Tim

Edit:  Though you'd think if they had Keeley Hawes as the voice of Marian, they'd make a bit more of a noise about it...  I might have to revise my theory...

Jennifer Hale is a good VA but why she's considered the be-all end-all I'll never know.

Versatility, you've probably heard her and had no idea: www.youtube.com/watch
She even does Disney ---> www.youtube.com/watch

Funny, I think that way about Mark Meer. And after having spent much of the last 3-4 years playing the Mass Effects as femShep I find her voice to be very recognisable.

____

Also, I have a theory on who's femHawke's VA, in fact I'm very confident about it. (see below)

It's the middle class inflection she's adding when she speaks, makes them sound similar. Pretty certain it's not Keeley though. Mika Simmons (Queen Anora) is my bet.

And Jan Alexandra Smith can sound a lot like her at times.

I support MHawke being voiced by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

She isn't Anora. Simmons voiced Isabela and they specifically changed her VA because she voiced a major character in DAO. If they wouldn't bring her back to voice the optional Isabela, why bring her back for the player character? IMO she sounds nothing like her, you could pick Mika Simmons out immediately even as different characters.

And I am just sayin' that to me it sounds nothing like her and there are good reasons why it isn't.

Hmmm. Not that I'm an expert, but there's tones of Hellena Schmied/Taylor, who voiced Ban Alfstanna, in there to me. Has the voice actor been revealed yet?

No, all we know is she's done minor work in da and me.

I've decided it's not her. But I'm not an "expert", either. ;)

Has the voice actor been revealed yet?

AFAIK: Nope.

ME work? Then not Hellena, she's not credited on it. Looks like rage-monk could be right with Smith. I hope he is, or he'll never live down the confident banner. :)

I just wish they'd finally announce who it is. The wait is KILLING me! My reputation is at stake!

Yeah, I'd go for that. Alfstanna did sound very similar.

I think it would be spectacular for Hawke to sound like he/she is from the West Country. That's the most heroic voice you can get! Even better if done by Bill Bailey.

How about this?
very british!!!
from last weekends SNL

my shorts and carpet are now covered in the coke I was ill-advisedly drinking while watching that...

and on topic, WOW, she sounds just like she looks

I like it more than Female Shepards, sounds more feminine.

Could definitely be Smith, not sure how I missed her on my initial list way back when but I did suspect it wasn't a fool proof list. She is Canadian of course, which goes against the suspicion that she'd be a native Brit like Male Hawke, but seeing as she already voiced a Ferelden native and is well regarded in theatre (starred in a play about Anne Hathaway called Shakespeare's Will no less) Rage could well be spot on.

Can't say Lady Hawke sounds much like Dr Michel though, but that could only mean that she is good at putting on different voices (a likelihood in any case).

Edit: The problem with Taylor is her not having voiced a character in ME. She's in the same boat with Wilton-Regan in that she sorta relies on DG having been wrong/misleading with that hint.

After review, my best guess at Lady Hawke is Kath Soucie.

When I listened to her in the second-post YouTube video, my immediate thought was that she sounded similar to the sultry female voice set. That's Soucie. When I looked at her creds, she has a lot of Orlesian voices, most notably Marjolaine, which is why a lot of people are hearing some Leliana in Hawke's voice.

But then I hit Allison from Lothering who does the Traps Are a Girl's Best Friend sidequest and that's given me a lot of confidence in it. Listen to Allison here ---> Traps Are a Girl's Best Friend

It's not Mika Simmons. And I really doubt anyone will guess her voice, as it's not by a VA that's really done anything you people would probably know about. Maybe we'll announce all the VA's at some point, I don't know.

So the "was in ME" thing is rescinded? Ooh, did you get a different actress since then?
