The should give voice options, so that peoples can choose what kind/tone of voice they want. Be it feminine, flirty, or butch. I think it would be a great idea. That, and long hair.

lady hawke voice especially the sarcastic line made me play the game first while i was stil b**ing about the changes at start. Its fantastic, and a perfect combination with the standard model.
It was also the first time i didnt customized my char mode.

I don't like either male or female Hawke's voices, but the female voice over makes me cringe more when I listen to her. Nor am I a fan of the script and dialogue, along with Hawke's character and personality.
Great idea ^.^ It would make listening to the dialogue a bit more tolerable (for me) than it is.

True, though I'm sure had the poster made a new thread for this discussion, there would have been several posts of "This has been discussed to death" or "Duplicate thread" or "Use the search bar." It's a lose-lose when you can't post in a thread relevant to your discussion because it's too old but also can't create a new thread because that old thread is still hanging around.

It is always better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one. That is, as long as your post consists of something beyond a mere 'I agree' or 'you suck'.

When I play video games, for some reason I tend to roll female characters; thus, when I played Dragon Age II for the first time, I created a female Hawke. Because I had finished my first playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins right before playing DA II, and loved it, it was difficult enough for me to adjust to DA II's different mechanics and other elements. Hearing female Hawke's voice and the dialogue, which I had initially thought sucked [I think I've changed my mind to some degree, now that I've started playing male Hawke], made me cringe through the entire playthrough. I admit, I don't have an argument to explain what exactly bothered me about her voice. All I can say is that her voice irritated me so much that I wanted to pull out my hair. For some reason, the more I play male Hawke, the more I like his voice actor -- at least, when it comes to playing as a sarcastic Hawke. I find the jokes, even though the dialogue for both male and female Hawke are similar if not the same (unless I'm mistaken), I personally feel that the voice actor for male Hawke did an excellent and much better job at punctuating the sarcastic remarks of Hawke to the point where I find myself snickering or laughing out of amusement.
Here are some of my favorite lines/moments:
Enemies Among Us:
Macha: You hear dark rumors about the templars and Knight-Commander Meredith. And now my brother is gone.
Hawke: So you think the templars... what? Killed and ate your brother?
Act of Mercy:
Grace: Will you buy us time to flee Kirkwall?
Hawke: Oh, just a little murder? Is that it? Uh, no.
The First Sacrifice:
Hawke: If they're not dead, watch out for a bunch of boneless women flopping on the streets.
Repentance:
Hawke: At the Blooming Rose, fifty silver's standard for a ****.

Necro. Now on topic the highpoint of DA][ for me was Jo Wyatt's VA. Because i just loved her voice, it complimented the default Female Hawke beautifully.
