"... My fave voice for tough-as-nails characters though had to be Courtenay Taylor as Jack/Subject Zero in Mass Effect 2.  She played that one really tough and forceful, but her softer voice is gorgeous too. If I picked my OWN Lady Hawke voice, it probably would have been her. No accent though in that role... I like her voice though.  It has that slightly breathy thing that works for me. :) "

Nice voice, and agreed lacking the accent.

See?Image IPB this proves it's all just subjective opinion. Because I think Male Hawke's VO is ultra pwnz.Image IPB

Well, both of them seem to be a vast improvement over the stuff we (don't) get in current RPGs.
But I gotta go with you on this one, Garrett and his cake is pwnz0rs a bit more in mah honest opinion.^_^

It sucks. The male version sounds better.

Yeah, I don't want to play the "who likes what version better" game. It's annoying enough as it is for Meer and Hale.

It's not just the voice ppl are hating on now. Now some folks are riled up that their femHawke is going to be-goodness gracious-feminine! With feminine idle motions to boot! And so enter the "we-want-our femhawke-butch/masculine" crowd. Personally, I am thrilled at the prospect of playing femhawke, who unlike femShepard, has her own female rig.

A meer whisper is enough to provoke them.

I still don't like Male Hawke's voice, but I like what I've heard of FemHawke's voice. She kinda sounds like Lara Croft

I think that is what irritates me slightly.  I love female Shepard, she is THE Shepard for me and that's awesome.  But we are talking different characters, with different back stories in a completely different universe.  I understand that people have personal preferences and that's cool, we all have things we enjoy more than others. If you think her voice is too posh considering her origins, I can see that point of view also.

My issue comes in when people say that she just doesn't sound "manly enough" or her walk is too "feminine."  What does that have to do with her being able to fight well and bring the pain?  The idea that there is only one way to show a strong character, that a strong warrior character has to take on masculine attributes in order to be believeable is insulting to both men and women in my opinion.  Gender is a complicated thing, one that allows for duality and intricacy in behavior and in relationships.

I, too, really like the voice, more than the male voice even (which I also like, just not as much). I'm all for female empowerment (and would honestly consider myself a male feminist), but it seemed like FemShep was trying to be too masculine at times. I like that Lady Hawke sounds confident, strong, and actually female.Image IPBImage IPBEdit:  @ DarthCaine, I also thought she sounded a lot like Lara from earlier TR games.  Specifically, Jonell Elliott.  She's the third Lara.

Wow, female Hawke's voice is simply horrendous. I'm so glad I'll be playing male Hawke.

Why can't it just be "not that good" or "kind of dissapointing" It always has to be the worst thing you've ever experienced.

It's either the best thing in the world or hell with you guys <_<

I'm going to dissent a little, and say that I'd've preferred a little more growl to her voice, you know, a little more maturity. Same with Isabela. They're both good, but the voices are just a little light.

Hm, fem!Hawke doesn't sound like Belinda Cornish to me (I hear she's been pegged as Bethany's VA; don't know if that's true). She sounds more like Jan Alexandra Smith (Delilah Howe, Asari councilor, Aishi the Mournful Blade) to me, but with a slightly higher pitch in her tone. Huh.

I really like Lady Hawke's voice as it plays against the type, yet there is a subtle strength behind it. As much as I like Jennifer Hale and for me, femShep IS Shepard, I didn't want a femShep clone, and I'm very glad the DA2 team didn't go in that direction.

Meyh, Hale would do better.
This is the voice of a person who can slash you in half with a sword larger than herself? Pfft.

If it was Jen Hale's Bastila voice, sure. If it was her Shepard voice, well... no.

Try not to think of a certain rapist in Origins. Or a templar in Lothering. Or Arl Bryland.

Speaking as a British person, no, she does not.

She's far too eloquent. :P

I know you were joking, but speaking as a British person, yes, yes she does. Where do you think eloquent RP-accented people come from, the Falklands?
