Now for almost three weeks already I am completely unable to add any Bioware points to my account. When I try to add them, I get to the point where I need to verify and confirm my order details and when I check the "I have read and accept the Digital Services Agreement" checkbox and press on "Place your order" button, the whole thing ends up with following error:

Purchase Error

An error has occurred while trying to process your request. Please, try again later.

And this happens each and every time and for almost three weeks now. Never had any problems with adding BW points before. My payment option in this case is - and always was - PayPal and every other purchase or payment I
do through PayPal works OK, only Bioware shop errors out. I spoke with some EA Customer Support rep over the chat one day and options she gave me to check or try didn't work at all, it still errors out. What's going on with it? And no, this is not like other errors with the store reported here in various topics, because I never get any receipts from PayPal or anything. It seems simply that after the BW page gives me that error, things stop and that's it. Just an obscure error message without any explanation.

And yes, I did check the "Common problems" topic, no situation or suggestion there matches with my problem. I was using this very same account, PC and browser before as well and I've purchased a lot of BW points in total, this is the first time I'm getting this kind of error.

Yep, encountering the very same problem. Tried it on both the ME site and the DA site, getting the same error on both sites. Guess no BW points for me. Oh well, will wait some more, I suppose. In the meantime, I expect the Alternate Appearance Pack 2 sales to suffer *shrug*

I'm also unable to purchase any points. It takes me all the way through paypal and when I click

"pay now" it says it is unable to connect to the site.



I get receipts from paypal like I made the purchase but no money is leaving my account. It's retarded

I do not even get to the PayPal part with BW store page. I click on "Continue" button and then it's supposed to go to PayPal page but instead nothing, it immediately fails. I tried also different browsers on different computers, cleared cache and cookies on all and tried again and what not else (including the things suggested in sticky topic in this forum) - nothing works. And ONLY with Bioware points thing, at the same time I use PayPal to pay for various services and subs without any issues at all. Even with the same credit card (and no, it's not over the limit either, it's a gold card and has higher limit then I really need even). It's something with Bioware's own page or store or systems.

Whailor, keep contacting EA Support. I've had the same error many times, but they once gave me 1600 points for the inconvenience. Of course, those were not enough for what I was going to buy, but they kind of brushed me off telling me to buy the points through the EA Store instead.

Tried to use the same credit card on Steam and it worked as a charm, so the problem is on BioWare's side.

try ordering points via the dragon age items rather than mass effect... weirdly it works, least it did for me.

When ordering bioware points, use the dragon age rather than mass effect screen... it seems the mass effect one is where the trouble lays.... two failed attempts with ME, zero with DA.. weirdly

What do you mean "Mass Effect screen"?



I click "Profile-->Add BioWare points".

I tried to add the points by going on Bioware Social pages, clicking on Profile and then Add Points - that fails. Then I also thought to give it a try through Dragon Age, but same thing - same failure. It just doesn't go past the Bioware page once I've selected the points, confirmed all and pressed on "Continue", it immediately errors out.



I'll try to chat EA Support up some more, hope they can do something, because this is just weird...

I just checked my internet banking page. There were no incoming requests to my credit card from BioWare site. Not even failed ones.



This means that the site generates error before even trying to contact my bank.

OK, I officially tried every single way to buy the points. I tried different pages, different browsers, different credit cards. The site is completely broken.



Can we please get an official response from BioWare about ETA of fix? It's absolutely ridiculous how reluctant they are to take our money.

Had the same problem trying to get points, EA never answered emails so went through paypal resolution centre and got my payments refunded.



I still want to buy points so i can get the extra content packs.



Any assistance would be appreciated and a bit of input from EA support would be a bonus

Is there a way to get a discount? I accidentally bought several times before realizing I was still getting billed for all of them.

I agree that the error occurs before PayPal page is even "contacted", this error seems to be coming solely from Bioware's own systems. I spoke once more with EA support and apparently my first chat, which was supposed to go to some senior staff member, somehow got lost... Anyway, second time I had a chat the problem was forwarded to the senior staff member who is currently looking into this. He/she added some points to my account and is looking in their system, it seems that some data in their system regarding the PayPal account details has become corrupted or something, and some data cleaning is required. They deleted my PayPal account data from the system and asked me to re-add it to test it again, but apparently somewhere in their system the data is still present, because even after checking my account details and seeing that there were no saved accounts, and creating a new PayPal account reference, their site still told me that "you already have a saved account".



So I am still waiting for their next step. What I can suggest is to chat EA up and let them look into this, this problem is affecting a lot of people and apparently this is in Bioware's or EA's systems. Some account data may be messed up and better to get this all fixed before DA2 hits the shelves.

Getting the same problem trying to add points through ME2 site, click pay now on the paypal site and get a site unavailable page

Well, they did do something in their system and asked me to look into this again and to try again. So, I tried to purchase additional 400 points and... Well, same thing as in my very first message. Back to where it all started. EA contact told that maybe it's something with PayPal regarding the EA account I have in their system, but I see no such information anywhere in PayPal, not to mention that the process doesn't even reach PayPal, error comes up immediately after I click on "Continue" on BW's page and it doesn't seem like it's even trying to connect to any other page or site. PayPal history shows no connections whatsoever from Bioware, while payments for other sites are showing up well. So, waiting for EA's next move. Good thing is that since they added some points to me, I was able to get the Appearance Pack 2 for ME2, but the bad thing is that this still doesn't work and DA2 is already around the corner.

I have been having this exact problem as well. I've checked and double checked my info, made sure everything was enabled. I have zero problems buying MS points from their site, so I know its not my browser.



The kicker is I cannot even contact EA because their "contact Us" page won't let me select a platform for what I'm having an issue, so I cannot contact them.

Just got the same problem, so should i use the resolution centre to ask for a refund or just wait till the customer service people at ea get back to me?

I tried purchasing 400 bioware points. After clicking "pay now" on the paypal website I got an error page. I went to check my credit card if I was charged and it seemed like I wasn't so I tried again. Same thing happened but this time when I went to check my credit card I got charged twice, and still no points. I opened a paypal ticket but nothing has happened thus far.



Any suggestions as to what I should do?

I had exactly the same happen to me, the money got taken off my paypal but no points ever got added, been like this for weeks now.

Same problem for 2-3 weeks. When I click on "Place your order" button, it shows some error: "An error has occurred while trying to process your request. Please, try again later.". I tryed ME2 and DA page with the same result.
