I got "An error has occurred while trying to process your request. Please, try again later. {0}" when simply trying to select how many points i wanted before i could even get to putting in card details...

Same error here. Been getting it for days now.

I'm also getting the same error. When I searched for an answer every official response seems to be to purchase them through Origin Store instead. Considering Bioware Points are much more exspensive to purchase through Origin instead of Bioware Social, I seriously considering whether EA's trying to force us to pay more.

EDIT: Got it working  If anyone else is having the same problem, try opening Mass Effect 2's DLC page and order one the DLC there. When you get the site where you verify the purchase, rather than buying the DLC try to add the points from there. Worked for me.

I'm a little confused by your statement here. Bioware points are the exact same cost between Origin and Bioware Social, both are 1600 points for $20. The only difference is that at Origin they don't charge you sales tax like they do at Bioware, so you actually SAVE money buying the points on Origin instead.

What led you to believe that they were more expensive over there?

You could try puchasing them through the EA Origin site:

I have been having the same issue for the last 2 days, I have tried 3 different credit cards (each one tells me "We can not perform transactions to this credit card. Please load another") and paypal which gives me "An error has occurred while trying to process your request, please try again later." I have tried through the in game DLC option (mass effect 2), the social.bioware store, the origin store, and even contacted EA support via chat twice. Both times the idiots on chat told me to contact my credit card company and paypal, which I know are not the problem. I have also tried clearing cache/cookies and tried both IE and firefox on two different computers, with no success. Does anyone have any other options or suggestions?

*UPDATE* I was successfully able to purchase points with my credit card through the Origin store (as Sundance suggested, thx!) by searching for bioware points, adding 800 points to my cart, and doing the regular checkout.  Problem is now I want to add 560 points but the Origin store only sells 800 and 1600 point bundles.

Hello All, I have found the problem.
One: Paypal no longer works
Two: It don't like you buying points, and then trying to get the DLC

So to get your DLC you will need to buy points from Origins website, or biowhere

There is a separate "Bioware Store" Forum to discuss store matters in. PayPal has apparently been a defunct, non-working option for months now.
