This.
Most fans don't care about the romances.

At my best guess with deductive reasoning there are three slots left for romances, a Male Bisexual LI, a Male LI, and a Female LI.
Isabella is pretty much the Female Bisexual LI, that leaves Merrill who'll be the Female LI for manHawke because Aveline was confirmed not to be an option. All that's left is the Male Bisexual LI and Male LI for femHawke.
Varric, Anders and Fenris are available, and there are two positions left. Personally, because he's possessed by a Demon of Vengeance, Anders is the least likely to be a LI. It just sounds to unstable and difficult to deal(and maybe script)within a relationship. That leaves Varric and Fenris. I (again personal opinion) see Fenris as the Male LI and Varric as the Male Bisexual LI. Fenris pretty much as Estrogen Brigade Bait all over him and he fits the stereotypical archetypes most woman are attracted to in media(Pretty, elegant, dark history etc.) That just leaves Varric, and I think he's the Male Bisexual LI because he's the narrator for both manhawke and femhawke. He'll already alter the monologues for whatever choices you make in game, so why not if he loves you?
I think Anders will be straight because, well, he was in Awakenings. I guess you could argue he was trying WAY too hard to drive home that he loves the ladies ... and it's always possiple that Justice/Vengeance is someone with an eye for men. :innocent:

I'm afraid this is second hand information, but apparently according to the PC Gamer Review, there are more romance options in DA2 than there was in DAO, and pretty much every main character and party member is romanceable.
The same person talking about the review also said Anders was a confirmed LI, but I don't know if this information came from the review or elsewhere (or nowhere...)

This is why I want Varric to be an LI. The possibility for incredibly poignant moments in the narration is just too perfect to pass up.I hate alliteration.

And those on this forum don't mean majority either. You're forgetting all the female gamers that have no idea about these forums. I've had DAO for a long time before I even ventured here and only ventured here because I was looking for some in game quest information.

Demon on man loving? Sounds deadly
You make a good point, but I just can't see the guy with a demon possessing him(like Wynne so he's technically undead) and that his personality maybe way different than in Awakening. We've only seen one shot of him, but last I checked, Anders in Awakening was not that heroic.

At the moment I'm starting to believe there won't be a bisexual male LI. I thought it would obviously be Anders when he was revealed but now his character seems to have changed so dramatically I don't reckon he'll be an LI at all... Then again a lot of people wanted to be able to romance him in DA:A so they may have brought him back partially for that reason. I honestly can't figure out which two will be the male LI's.

Like it or not nobody has actually confirmed male-male romances. Only that "all genders and orientations" will be catered too.
Wow, that's some paranoia right there. Consider male-male romance confirmed, then.

As for there being more LIs in DA2 than DA:O, aren't there supposed to be romances with NPCs (sort of like with Kelly in ME2, only hopefully moreso)? Maybe that's what they were counting.

I'd say if the person has clear preference for cheating (i mean it in generic sense here, not specifically sleeping with others) then "commitment" becomes largely empty phrase. Making commitment can then very easily become case of merely making the other person believe that the commitment was actually made.Maria Caliban wrote...
Yes, I view someone marrying as evidence that they're not afraid of commitment. Whether they like that person or sleep with other is rather irrelevant to whether they've made that commitment.
And... her being a captain? The men she served with for years?
I find it odd here that no one is talking about Fenris', Anders', or Merril's fear of commitment or providing evidence that they're willing to make commitments. Only Isabela, the character that we know has been married and who was the captain of a ship.
Well, it's pretty common to hear that women fall for the guys who make them laugh, so maybe that's that? Alistair gets noted for his snarky humour, too.Sjofn wrote...
Anders was a giant selfish baby in Awakenings, yeah. I've never, ever understood why women were attracted to him, because he's just so ... lame. I thought he was funny and he was a good friend to my wardens, but sooooo not attractive in the least.

And who is no longer married and whose ship was destroyed, her men with it. I'm sure that Isabela has a lot of baggage, and I'll bet that that's part of it. Of course, she almost certainly just really likes sex too. Prmoiscuity =/= fear of commitment. And if we're tossing around speculation like babies at a band show, I'll bet Anders has some commitment issues too. He seemed really flaky in Awakening.
