Yeah, the bits that aren't consumed by a demon living within him and taking over his body whenever he happens to think it's best.

I call it angry demon sex. Rawr.

Dhiro, you are one kinky little boy. I like you. In a cute-puppy-who-just-bit-someone sort of way.

Fenris will definitely be romanceable because he was almost designed for fangirls, i swear.

Mm. I'm actually thinking Anders won't be. But if he is I'll be happy.

Also Sebastian Vael wont be, im assuming.

Though that's a very good point. Especially considering Hepler's hints that eventually he won't be able to focus on anything but the mage/chantry issue, which appears to be heating up in DA2.
Once you've set out to destroy the state religion and it's militant organization, I imagine it's difficult to find time for much else.

The description of the character also seems to imply that Anders only resists being taken over completely until the Chantry is gone, if that becomes his entire focus in the end... I don't see happy trails ahead, especially if you're defending the Chantry (assuming you can do such a thing).

I'm going to be sad if Varric isn't romanceable because he seems like the only one from the male lot who hasn't endured some life changing trauma or isn't... Half-possessed. Then again I do take some enjoyment in playing out romance stories where the other person goes and fixes the other and then there will be lots of kissing and all that.

I swear I had a response to this, something clever and insightful. Then I made the mistake of looking slightly to the left of your post.

Dave, that avatar is a double-edged sword.

Some conflict, sure, but it's not as blatantly obvious as the others. I much prefer a man with more subtle problems. Political, maybe, or cultural, even something that happened long ago, but anything as jarring as Fenris' past or Anders' possession gives me pause.

I like how the only reason against Anders's romance is his conflict? When did that EVER stop a Bioware romance?

Being possessed by a demon, being 100% focused on destroying a group with little focus on anything else and losing control of yourself eventually to become an abomination isn't very romantic material. Who's to say he'll even care about romance if all he cares about is seeing the Chantry destroyed before letting himself be possessed?

This isn't regular conflict in a Bioware romance.

Anders is sharing his body with another person who can take over it at any time. I find the idea that people still think he might be a romance or have to resort to other explanations for why he won't be one ("he's focused at something else!!!") utterly mindboggling.

Seriously...wth...

1) Helper said he was still the same ol' Anders in other situations.

2) You seem awfully convinced he's 100% focused on destroying the Chantry, seems like he's very willing to help others (being a devoted healer as well). Wouldn't he leave Hawke if Hawke wasn't 100% against the Chantry as well? No. I think he'll cooperate for the greater good and can be convinced as such. I think you're taking his whole possession thing a little too seriously.

3) Assuming makes an ass out of you and me. I digress.

We can only wait and see!

Speaking of unconventional LI's, I admit I have quite an infatuation on Justice. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]

I dislike being the hopeful and naive fan, but when was the last time there was a blatantly attractive man, like Sebastian, in a Bioware game, who was not a love interest?

As far as potential romances go, I'd personally choose Sebastian first and foremost (-- attractive redheads with an accent and striking eyes!), but I think it's very likely that he will fall into Kelly's role from ME2. A bisexual, half-romance option.

Hepler herself said that it becomes difficult, if not impossible, for him to focus on anything else. Also, before the Justice/Vengeance character twist was revealed, Gaider - who wrote him in Awakening - stated that he wasn't the Anders we remember. He retains the snark and some similarities, but he's not exactly the same person.

Nothing that a personal quest that's forseeable can't fix.

The bold is at the start of the game, as the game progresses Anders won't be able to focus on much else. Hepler said so herself.

Anders is definitely still recognizable as snarky ol' Anders on most subjects. He/Justice just have one enormous blind spot. And the bigger that issue gets in the world, the harder it is for Anders to focus on anything else...

And this won't mean a relationship hurdle...?  It looks like Isabela has a problem with commitment as well...

You know, I always wonder about that.  If it is possible to essentiallu "fix" abominations, why doesn't the circle every do that?  It's always KILL DEH DEMON! rather than let's get rid of it!  Or...Connor was just special because he was nobility.  *grumbles*

Edit:  I cannot spell today.

I think Wynne had mentioned something like this before.  Being able to harness a demon/spirit or something or other.   Maybe they're fleshing that idea out?

Lmao. It's not a problem with commitment. He's an abomination. I want to see you try to effectively put the moves on someone with a Fade demon taking over you whenever it damn well pleases.

Wynne had a spirit. They were living in peaceful co-existence. This? This ain't peaceful, honey. And Vengeance isn't a spirit. He's a certified demon, warped by Anders' anger at the Chantry.
