A Dev said that they do not whant us to know who are the LI before we play the game because they want the relationship to develop on its own without us chosing who before we play.

Oh dear, a dev truly said that? While I can perfectly understand their reasoning, I believe that it is a little late for 'keeping the LI's quiet' for non-spoilerific purposes.  Especially since MHawke's choices for heterosexual romances have already been leaked, by the devs themselves I may add.

With the recent information that Aveline is, in fact, not a love interest (in the standard definition of the word to us  ), said by I believe either Mr. Gaider or Mr. Laidlaw in an interveiew.  This, combined with the fact that, through various reviewers and clips, we can, deduce that Isabella is, indeed, a LI.  Therefore, through this, we conclude that:

a.) Isabella is an LI
b.) we can assume that it Merril, the dalish mage is also an LI
(of course this is not 100% confirmed, but 95% is quite close, no?)

So again, while I understand the dev's want for secrecy, I believe that they should also understand their female fanbase's impatience at why their FHawke's LI characters have not  been mentioned at all...

I realize that I am not alone in this, as is the reason I see so many romance topics on the forums.  <3

To the devs I only have to say that, at this juncture in time, as approximately all of the MHawke's LI's have been shared with the public, I only ask that the LI's for FHawke be released as well. Truly, I do not think that this information will ultimately spoil the game for anyone, if anything, it will make many of these fangirls very happy indeed. ^_^

And what, my dear devs, is more precious than the joyful tears of a fangirl? :D

LMAO "Dating Age" This made my day.
Don't care about the romance options really, as long as FemHawke can get it on with Anders.

Then technically you do care about the romance options =]

There are no announcements of FemHawke romances because Mr. Gaider loves torturing us.

I'm serious. Right now he's probably laughing as he watches us Fengirls and Anders fangirls weeping as we wait for confirmation.

:pinched: You speak truth. Most Bioware fans should know this by now. They feed of our tears. Fangirl tears are specially bitter, lol. Although the last couple of days we did get flooded with information so I can't complain.....its never enough!

We'll just have to see. Maybe by the time we get the demo we'll know more? Although to be honest, this is a wild assumption but I'm clearly leaning towards Anders and Fenris being Lady Hawke's LI.

You only get 2 romance options of each sex, they won't waste one on a dwarf who 90% of people wouldn't wanna see.

90% of people are missing out.

Agreed. Varric is going to get a huge following after DA2. He's going to be Garrus on repeat.

The game should cater to my very own personal needs and desires, and no one else's.

There is so much of this mentality with potential love interests.

Sadly yes.

I'd be cool with them all being LIs (or hell I'm happy with just a Bi Fenris). Alas there's a limited number.

Everyone's scared of not getting what they want. After all, a game is supposed to be your own personal playground.

Though, a little more tolerance and understanding never hurt anyone. That I know of.

i was gonna ask what about carver .... bad call.

listen ... as long as i get anders somehow ... i dont really care. sebastian would also work i think.

i really have a feeling that anders is bi. oh jeeze i dont know. it would be easier for fenris to be bi i think, him comming into light with himself, since he doesnt know who he is. anders knows plenty who he is. damn why cant everyone just be bisexual? no trouble, everyones happy...

Well this is taking into account that he's what he's thought to be.  All of the fan-following is relatively blind at the moment, isn't it?  We know voices,  and we know premises...but any one of them might be amazing or just "argh!" on steroids.

That said,  I think the Devs are going to start getting really annoyed soon....  Lots of these romance threads are popping up and they're continually closed again and again with the message "we've just not announced them yet gawd!"  Hopefully they'll announce it on Valentine's day...or in annoyance will end up making us wait till the last @_@

Erm...even though I actually, reluctantly so, kind of agree with the 'this is a RPG not a dating sim' thing...I can't help but care. These characters are really brimming with potential intrigue on the possibility of romance (sorry to be lame).

It's cruelity ya know, how the devs aren't even hinting that a male LI exists. *Coughs* Fenris please *coughs*.

What's explored there really doesn't suggest much of a full DLC romance character, that's a romance pack where you take a current romance for a date or something. People who don't buy it still get the full romance, those who do just get extra. Sebastian as DLC would be completely different because there's no straight male option to balance it out and people who don't buy it miss out on a romance, which is a little different than a companion because romances are expensive.

Yes, but it still goes against the claims that they would never do downloadable content that has something to do with romance. And DLC characters always throw something out of balance, whether it be what classes of companions are available or something else.

EDIT: God, I feel like such a fan. Ugh... I need to sleep it off.

ME2 had LotSB, which was an amazingly awesome romance DLC (which also included awesome combat too of course, but obviously the romance was the key ingredient), I would hope that DA2 would have something similar at some point. Right now though we already know that Lady Hawke can romance Isabella, which is awesome, of course there will be others as well, we'll know exactly who soon enough. I would hope that Sebastian would be an LI, not for myself but because if he was it would not only be nice for those that do want that, but also because it would mean there would be a female LI coming via DLC soon to even things out again, and the more the better :) .

Meh. I want to know, too, but really. One MHawke romance has been revealed -- Isabela. And one Lady Hawke romance has been revealed -- also Isabela. The Merrill thing is very plausible process of elimination ... as is the Fenris thing.

Looks about even to me!

Women will get hot throbbing romance action in DA 2. As many inches as you like.

Followed by Gaider's evil twists & turns.

No. Romance wasn't a key ingredient in LoTSB. My Shep who wanted to kick Liara in the face still did it. No romance there.

Well....as is always true in my life, in dire situations like this, I always quote the Guide.  I believe that the prospect of having a seperate DLC character as an LI is perhaps not impossible, only improbable. Improbable because it has never been done before.  But we must remember that Bioware, I think , has finaly fully realilzed the popularity of romances in their games. If I was a producer at Bioware, I would agree wholehartedly to the idea, if the character is memorable and the quest is enjoyable--it's going to sell, that's all there is to it. And if Bioware knows anything, its how to create great, 3-dimensional characters and quests.  :kissing:
