By the end of Mass Effect 2 their relationship has changed.  They banter like a married couple.  Do you think that to some extent the writers see them as Ira Weatheral and Minerva from Heinlein's Time enough for love?  Now that would be wild.

I don't care. I just want them both dead. EDI for being an obvious Battlestar Galactica cash in, and Joker for just being a pompous a%#.

That's harsh. They have taken actors who have been in multiple other Sci-fi productions and have re-hashed some ideas from other media. But I my opinion that does not detract from the game.

Seth Green plays Joker as a man with a major chip on his shoulder, but that is explained in ME1.

Tricia Helfer plays an AI well as EDI.

They do talk about their roles on the video "Mass Effect 2 - Celebrities".

I didn't like EDI. I don't want to see her come back in ME3.

I thought you said you had no desire to interfere with my command.

I thought the Geth were a BSG knockoff. How is EDI more of a knockoff than that?

Don't know about him, but anything BSG related is awesome :D

^^ agreed! I can forgive the geth/quarian thing being a total BSG knockoff, simply because BSG is awesome.

I don't get the EDI hate. I don't have particularly strong feelings toward her in a positive way, I just don't have feelings toward her at all. So long as she does what I ask, we can coexist peacefully, just like I do with Legion. (although I do flat-out adore Legion)

I like all AI, though, except for the ones trying to kill me, as they so often do. Probably a result of me liking BSG, RvB, etc.

More on topic, I am totally in favor of a Joker/EDI ship! Mainly because I think it's hilarious. Joker is a pretty cool dude (eh kills Collectors and geth and doesn't afraid of anything, etc.), but he mocks me wayyy too much for me to pass up a chance to tease him in return.

I don't know why, but I always found EDI extremely annoying. I hope she is decommissioned in the third game.

How Dare You !

Nah seriously... I slowly began to think Joker has a love interrest with EDI, but this is just too weird to be appropriate. However, they really sounds like an old couple, maybe intentionnal from the writers to make the game less dark.

It's Tricia Helfer. Apparently every single big game out there that has hints of scifi elements must cast her in the game like it's mandatory. She's been in Command and Conquer, Halo, Mass Effect, and.. well, probably the most offensive use of "celebrity status over talent" was casting her for the role of Kerrigan in StarCraft 2. Kerrigan, a character that was brought to life in the original StarCraft games by Glynnis Talkin Campbell, who actually did work for StarCraft 2 before they chose Helfer instead.

Sorry, I'm still not over that.

I'm a huge EDI and Joker fan. I'd love to see some more dialogue from them in 3.

At least they used Tricia's voice instead of her breasts.

I felt there was more to their relationship than a man and his AI. All they need now is a cloned body for EDI.
