After weeks of speculation I just found the following tidbit of information in the PC Player review which might interest you guys.

"... DA2's romantic options are unconstrained. You meet a party member chances are you can bone them (your sibling is on fortunate exception) Male, female, amalgamation of human and spirutal manifestation of justice, all are fair game.  ..."

So I take, there is someone for anyone to choose from when picking your love interest.

After reading the review, I can't wait to get my hands on the game. (And no, not just because of the romance options)

GASP. Also, "amalgamation of human and spiritual manifestation of justice" is my new favourite way of describing the Anders situation.

That works too! Really, I just enjoy the word amalgamation. Fingers crossed this review's correct and all the LIs, including the amalgamation of ____, is available to everyone.

Elves are just too slim and wiry. It's why people see them as feminine. There are many people of both genders who are attracted to masculine features and it's difficult for some of those people to see elves as masculine simply due to their lithe bodies and often times androgynous features.

Alistair was a HUGE hit with players (both males and females) who like male romances and many gay players were disheartened when they found out he wasn't romanceable by males and overjoyed when the dlc was made that made him romanceable by males. As much as it was Alistair's personality that won over many male players I would be willing to bet his physical parameters in relation to their own character helped as well. At least it did for me.   A character like Sebastion would be what I'd likely want to romance with my male Hawke in the game just from the choice of males we've seen.

If the male romances are fenris and anders I will hope that if nothing else a) anders gets a "males can romance him" mod and fenris gets a "you now look like a healthy human male instead of a slim androgynous elf" mod.

is this true? I just recently got into playing Dragon Age and was working up an interest with Alistair flouring him with Gifts till I looked up online and read all of the old discussions on here saying Alistair can't be male romanced. 

It stunned me cause I had killed Zevran over a previous save when I let Zevran join my team and Alistair -5 disaproved it. I assumed Alistair was jealous of my actions so I undid to my chagrin of discovering he was not even romanceable.

So have this changed now? What exact DLC changes this?

Alistair is straight. The only way you can romance him as a male is by installing a mod.



By the way, there was also another russian magazine that said you could sleep with any complanion. But since we know Varric and Aveline are not romanceable, I'm not sure if we can use their info as proof that all LIs are bi.

Well, being able to sleep with anyone doesn't mean you could pursue an entire romance subplot with them, as that would be limited to the four confirmed.

That still wouldn't proove all LIs are bi, as they could have meant that between both Hawkes (male and female) you could sleep with everyone but there still may be gender restrictions.

I too wonder if this is true... Like, an actual DLC? Or is this just referring to the no gender check mods where he still calls my warden a woman?

DLC can be player made or developer made. As long as it can be downloaded and adds stuff to the game, it's DLC
