PC/Disk/2.6 Ghz/Core 2 Duo/ 4GB of RAM installed/Windows 7/Direct X 11 installed/

Hardware Specs

Hello, I'm getting absolutly terrible problems with shadows on landscapes.

As far as I'm aware, this issue only happens in sections were you use the Mako.

I took two screenshots:

I'm currently using a EVGA GTX 460 graphics card with the latest drivers.
I'm on the most recent patch of Mass Effect (1.02 I think it is?)

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, you meet all of the reccomended settings. However, the fact that you are using Windows 7 might be the cause( just guessing) because it was never designed to run on Windows 7.

I would reccomend you check the options menu on the main menu, see if tweeking things around might help. Also look around the forums. There might be people with the same problem as you.

Hope this helps.

By the way, does this only happen on Noveria or does it happen elsewhere also?

Windows 7 doesn't cause this. Certainly not uniformly.

All I can suggest is to try different drivers. Nvidia has been known to glitch or even break the MEs now and then (although usually they're pretty good about the latest series cards like yours).

Edit: Also, you could try running a DirectX update, either off the disc or from Microsoft. I'm guessing switching drivers is more likely to be productive, but who knows.

That looks like texture filtering off (that's how this option is named in Lineage II).

Yeah, that should be related to directx or GPU drivers.

I assure you my oportating system has absolutly nothing to do with this problem.

Every single part of the game that has a driving section has this problem to the degree where it is noticeable.

I seriously doubt that my current installation of DirectX would cause this. Downgrading to another NVIDIA driver for my card would be more productive? I wouldn't know what release to install, it would be a shot in the dark and experimentation which may lead to no results.

I messed around in with my 3D Application Settings in the NVIDIA Control Pannel - I'm going to try forcing some texture optimization. I will edit or post again if this solved the problem.

[SOLVED!]

I figured it out, in the NVIDIA Control Panel I forced: Ambient Occlusion and no more ugly textures ad shadows on landscapes for me.
